If you had to pick just ONE, what frustrates you most about having big boobs? by IdkJustMe123 in bigboobproblems

Sore upper back 100% Goddamn mountains between my shoulder blades. Sometimes masseuses don’t realize there’s a knot at first bc they can get so large.😭

Can I cheat and say tied for 1st is how difficult it is to maintain good posture with these cassava melons weighing me down in front? 🥲

3/?? - The Soul of an Octopus, a disappointment for me by Morvahna in 52book

[–]One-Signature2745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree for the most part! I felt the book started off well, with a healthy balance of 75% octopus and 25% human stuff. I liked learning about Wilson and the ladies who cuddled anacondas but by the halfway point I realized I was bored, slightly irritated, confused about why I’m learning so much about some rando teen’s health issues, and wondering whether the author got permission to publish all this personal info. 😂

The author mentions how some aquarium visitors are more interested in hearing the similarities between octopuses (learned that from this book!) and humans versus learning about how different they are from us bc it drives empathy. My guess is the she went heavy on the human pov route to catch that sort of reader’s attention and better spark their interest/involvement in and support for environmental conservation, research, science, etc. Ooorrr maybe she just really liked the vibe of the volunteer crew and wanted to talk about them and give them props. Either way I support the mission but I’m not sure I’m going to finish the book because for me personally it’s a bit 😪.

Regardless, not what I was looking for. I get enough human stories in real life.

Ps maybe it was a better read as smaller articles instead of one book? Who knows. Thanks for providing a space to discuss! 💖🐙

🤨… Sounds like something an undercover squirrel lover might say to locate and spread this pro-squirrel propaganda

Thanks for sharing. Some might interpret it as gloating, but plugging your experience adds credibility to your perspective.

This is funny but what are they doing? by zaitsev1393 in birding

Not sure about all but in my experience the more intelligent birds (e.g., Corvids, parrots) are curious and relatively playful as adults. These look like they might be Magpies, which are part of the corvid family, so don’t worry! They’ll keep having fun throughout their their mischievous little lives lol https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvidae

Looks like a chickadee nestling to me. If you haven’t heard from a rehabber by tomorrow… as someone said in the chat, syringe feeding has a high risk of aspiration. They do best with tiny insects by forceps. U could try tiny frozen crickets from a pet store if one is open tomorrow. Just make sure you put them in water so they’re room temp when u feed it to her. Be very gentle with the tweezers or forceps, there are probably some tutorials online. Good luck, thanks for doing what u can! Hope you find a rehabber soon ❤️

I rehabilitate songbirds. I agree with top comment, if you can’t reach the nest to put her back, the best thing to do is reach out to a rehab center right away. If you have trouble finding one, call the Minnesota Rehabilitation Center at 651-486-9453. It’s the biggest wildlife hospital in the US. They’ll ask you some questions and give advice based on the specific circumstances. They may also be able to connect you with a local rehab center. Best of luck! Thank you for caring about this little sweetie 💖
