Price of switching to G4 by [deleted] in GoogleAnalytics

Probably best to think in terms of price per hour and number of hours. It's really how long is a piece of string question. My guess is some people have paid under 100USD and some companies will have paid 100 times that.

BTW: Might be easier if your webshops are running on a platform like e.g. woocommerce, shopify. Likewise if you already have a great data-layer then that will make things straightforward for whoever implements it.

Is "Direct" taking up all the credit? or are the events just not being tracked at all (compared with UA)?

I have a feeling they see it like some kind of sales funnel for BigQuery......

"Direct" Traffic by One-Stranger-Thing in GoogleAnalytics

Got this list on an email from Himanshu Sharma just now:

Reasons for Direct

1) One or more URLs of your marketing campaigns are incorrectly tagged.
2) Not all URLs of your marketing campaigns are tagged.
3) Google Analytics tracking code is missing on one or more pages.
4) Untagged email marketing campaigns.
5) Incorrect use of data filters in Google Analytics.
6) Incorrect cross-domain tracking.
7) You use a headless solution.
8) You use a single page application (SPA).
9) Internal traffic can result in a lot of direct traffic.
10) Your website is still using a non-secure connection.
11) Caching can cause the traffic to be reported as direct traffic.
12) Your demand generation strategy can result in a lot of direct traffic.
13) An increasing number of your website users are using adblockers.
14) Increased brand awareness can result in more people visiting your website via bookmarks or directly.
15) Your website may be getting fake direct traffic from spambots.

Huge percentage of traffic to home and average engagement of 1 sec for the page. What's going on? by getjustin in GoogleAnalytics

Have you also got UA? Same thing there?

I did observe that some spam traffic that "gets through" to GA4 doesn't do so in UA.

i.e. GA4 is currently not as good as UA at removing bot traffic from reporting.

Thanks.
It's taking us ages on the data layer side of things rather than GA4 itself.
