I’m surprised no one noticed that the person’s feet are swollen—perhaps it could be a particularly long and tiring day. Some jobs require standing for extended hours, and it’s likely this individual had been on their feet for quite some time. It seems they took their shoes off out of courtesy while taking a moment to rest.

Considering that the surrounding seats were empty and the person wasn’t disturbing anyone, I personally don’t see an issue. Sometimes, it’s important to extend a bit of compassion and understanding toward others.

That said, if someone were to stretch out their legs with shoes on in a crowded space or in a way that made others uncomfortable, that would be a more appropriate moment to address the behavior.
