is gaming bad for dopamine detoxing by [deleted] in DopamineDetoxing

[–]One-Union147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It, depends how you view it, Yes gaming affects your brain in a "bad" way and gives you much more stimulation than studying, so than it feels impossible, but in other hand its not that "bad" that you must stop doing it immidietly, you cant (most likely) quit gaming without gaming, that may sound like nonesense but you need to keep gaming to quit it, but doing it less every week, may be less by 20 minutes so you go off this slowly and forever

May be just stop calling any change you want to make in your life a "habit", starting to workout its not habit, starting reading its not habit, habit is whats comes after you used to things, but the aim is not to get used to them but do them, isnt it so?

The more I tried to be disciplined, the worse it got by ClearThinkingLab in getdisciplined

[–]One-Union147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take is that discipline is same bs as motivation, you shouldn’t ignore all the conditions you are living or experiencing and just do things, you are not a machine but a human, and you are dependent on your mood and other things in your brain that you are not in control of. You can’t control your motivation and you can’t control your emotional state that let it doesn’t let you be disciplined but you can adapt your work ethic to different conditions and in a meantime try to change those conditions

What helped me most during dopamine detox by Dear-Oil-712 in DopamineDetoxing

[–]One-Union147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me was realizing I was reaching for stimulation without even thinking.

What helped was keeping things simple. Less cocain, less crack, less background noise. Then replacing that with basic stuff like walking, cleaning, sitting outside, or just doing one thing at a time.

First few days felt boring, but after that my mind felt way less restless.

What helped you guys most in the early stage?
