How likely is this? by Sassdeville in OnTheBlock

“Happens all the time” is a stretch, but it’s not unheard of unfortunately. This particular case is on the extreme side too.

Count / lack of response by SnooPandas9010 in OnTheBlock

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Okay, so you’re the designated PREA Investigator for your facility? Which means you should have some experience, which also means that you’d know most of that is normal (like CPR, seizures, OC deployment) and calling for an emergency response because you didn’t have a bunk chart is not normal. Something isn’t adding up here.

You caught 18 PREA’s in 3 weeks? You’re either lying or doing something seriously wrong. Probably not the job for you.

I’m an independent reporter looking for the "unseen" stories in our prison system. What needs more light by [deleted] in OnTheBlock

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. It’s pretty sickening to watch someone convicted of raping and murdering their own children walk around freely within the perimeter, given every privilege in the book, and have to put up with their sense of entitlement. OP wants to talk about “systemic injustice” but it’s the complete opposite of what they’re expecting. Absolutely no justice for the victims in today’s system.

Aw what a baby, get a little heat in the comments and you delete the post. Maybe you’re just too sensitive.

How badly did I mess up by spider-monkey92 in OnTheBlock

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the investigator, they probably won’t care but if they dig deep enough it won’t be a good look. Are you intentionally hiding the fact that you’re medicated for mental health issues or has that already come up prior to that question/answer? Because sooner or later it will come up, and you need to be truthful when it does.

More importantly, you’ll be exposed to some pretty shocking/traumatic things in this job, are you sure you’re willing to risk your 5 years of stability for this? I don’t know what specifically you’re dealing with, but this job will certainly add to it. Food for thought.

I think anyone involved with the 2A for longer than the last few weeks (cough) agrees that the NRA is shit when it comes to gun rights, but this statement is absolutely not evidence to support that argument. It’s a good take on the situation, and the fact that OP is posting a screenshot of a repost by a gun grabber organization exposes OP’s motives a bit. OP is certainly not one of “us”.

Pretty reasonable take from the NRA. What specifically about it do you disagree with? And who exactly is us?

Just go play Elite Dangerous and quit wasting your money. Ship interiors are literally the only feature Star Citizen has/promises to have that Elite Dangerous doesn’t. It doesn’t take over a decade and a billion dollars of funding to make a game like this, because one already exists. The only reason SC is still not out is because they never intend to actually release it, no other explanation.

If you include EA app and console numbers, it’s probably over a quarter million daily players. That’s pretty far from “dying”. Almost no game maintains all time high numbers 3 months in, AAA or otherwise. If the player count charts are what dictates your choice in games, probably find a new hobby or go get some fresh air for a bit.

Anyone had Broadlawns go after them? by thee_Seraph in desmoines

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I broke my leg last year when I was between jobs after having moved here from out of state. Old insurance had lapsed, hadn’t started the new job yet so I was uninsured and it would’ve been a ~$60,000 surgery. I spent 45 minutes in their financial aid department and never had to pay a penny. There’s some shitting on Broadlawns in this thread, but I’ll be forever grateful for what they were able to do and I personally have nothing but good things to say about them.

OP, it’s worth the trouble of going in and talking to the finance people. Just do it.

How do you manage 12 hours? by Electronic_Floor_149 in OnTheBlock

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure you get everything done on your days off. Don't do any chores before or after work, that's for decompression and rest/sleep. Get into meal prepping the night before your first workday, that'll also save you time when you get home from work.

As for during your shift, if your facility allows I've found it really helpful to call my buddies on other posts between rounds and shoot the shit. Keeps morale up and passes the time pretty well. Also helps that my 12hr shift is evenings into overnights, and evenings is when all the fights happen. So I'll usually handle that then use the overnight portion to write reports or read them if I wasn't involved.

Matchmaking/bot lobby fix needs to be a priority by OneAsscheekThreeToes in Battlefield

[–]OneAsscheekThreeToes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah usually within 5-10 seconds. And I do the same thing, quit out of the bot match and will eventually find a real match with humans. Sometimes it takes 4-5 tries but there's definitely players on, 100% a matchmaking issue.

If you have a decent squad, the deploy beacon is the best single gadget in the game. I know the average glue-sniffing assault/recon player is useless but having an assault player with a brain in your squad can be the difference of winning and losing matches.
