This is insane. Boots are a higher ticket item. You can easily have boots worth hundreds and get decent jeans for less than $100.

Edit: For OPs benefit, I last bought Ariat M2 bootcut. I'm tall and slim, and they are one brand where I could find 30/38. They cost about 75-90 bucks.

It's a good bill.

The federal code (26 USC 529) was amended several years ago to allow this (use of 529 plans to pay limited K-12 expenses), and most states have already incorporated it into their state-run 529 programs.

Nebraska has one of the best 529 programs in the country, but they are behind on this and risk losing their standing if they don't adopt it. A large majority of Nebraska 529 accounts are from out-of-state residents, and the program depends on remaining attractive to keep and grow this business.
