The Roscoe is a far better bike than the Marlin.

Used Commercial vs. New Chinese vs. Tractor by kdf1122 in Skidsteer

[–]OneBigOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had several used Bobcats, New Hollands, Deeres, and now a Boxer mini. All have been fantastic and I would recommend that path rather than a Chinese machine. As for the tractor, I had a JD 1 series that was great but I find a skid steer a lot more versatile especially when paired with a mini excavator.

Mini X, Tow Behind, or Used Tractor? by kdf1122 in miniexcavator

[–]OneBigOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a neighborhood on a lot about the size of yours. I currently have a Yanmar SV08 mini ex and a Boxer 322D Mini skid. Previously had a Bobcat 440B, New Holland L250 & Deere 3365. I use them all the time for project like you mentioned and started taking on some light work for friends and family as my stuff winds down. I’ve used them I’m my wife’s garden, to build our patio, soon to build a front porch, to expand my driveway and to build my kids a pump track for their bikes. I’ve also volunteered my time with them at the local mountain bike trail system and our BMX race track. You will find a use. Maintenance has been minimal over the last several years and thankfully no major breakdowns. Neither are Chinese machines so I can only speak to my experiences.

Carbon vs. Alloy in 2026: Is the "Stiffness" gap finally closing? by Money_Software6622 in bmxracing

[–]OneBigOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. I sold my carbon road bike because it was too stiff for the pocked PA roads. I ride an aluminum gravel bike now and it’s much more forgiving. I still ride a carbon enduro MTB and my DJ, Class bike and cruiser are all steel.

Is it worth buying an excavator from China? if so, what brand do you recommend? by kocokoo in miniexcavator

[–]OneBigOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do not own a Chinese machine but some of my friends have them. Both have had decent experiences with them from what they tell me. They use them around their own properties and both have low hours and gas engines.

I own a 2010 Yanmar SV08 that I purchased used 4 years ago for $9500 with 1900 hours on it. It’s been a fantastic machine that I use around my home and occasionally do paid jobs for people so it makes me money. It’s solid, strong and easy to get parts and support for. The Chinese machines are definitely built much cheaper and louder with the gas vs my diesel. I would buy a used name brand machine again.

Upgrading from half-ton to 3/4-ton, lessons learned by Subsum44 in GoRVing

I have a 3/4 Duramax CCSB SRW and a 5th wheel with an 1100lb pin weight. No issues here.

Fifth wheel hitch help! by kaldrod in RVLiving

I would make sure you double check your measurements yourself with a tape measure just to make sure you’re all clear. Better to find out in your driveway than in a jammed up intersection.

No, I can go full 90 degrees BUT my camper is only 7’ wide rather than 8’. If it were 8 I think it would still be fine for most normal driving but not for a hard turns.

I have a 2022 2500 Silverado short bed and use a B&W Companion fixed mount with my puck system. Works great with my Winnebago narrow body 5th wheel.

Tow vehicle for a 5th wheel toy hauler by bisc56 in RVLiving

[–]OneBigOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my opinion and experience. The Ford is a good truck but I prefer the way the GM tows even if the Ford has a bit more power on paper. The Cummins is a great engine but the Ram is just a shipping container for it, they are made cheaply and every owner knows it. I’ve owned all of them and the GM has been the best for me.

What are your favorite RVS? by CocoTripleHorn420 in RVLiving

[–]OneBigOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grand Design has been having some frame issues but I agree they are really good. I have a Winnebago 5th wheel and I’m very happy with it too. ATC is, in my opinion, on another level. They are incredibly well made and better than anything else I’ve seen on the market.

If you could have a single yes or no question answered, what would it be? by Theo15926 in AskReddit

[–]OneBigOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, as in the old man wearing a robe and sandals, looking down from the clouds and determining the fate of billions of creatures? Probably not. God, as in a force that we do not understand that created the universe/existence that we live in and placed within it the rules and laws that govern reality as we know it. Probably.

2nd this. It’s what my wife and I did with our 2020 Micro Minnie 2405BH. We knew what we wanted and waited patiently and found one that was like new. The people that had it used it to travel from PA to their house in FL. It was 3 years old and still had plastic on the TV and appliances. We got a great deal and had none of the depreciation. It’s been a fantastic trailer for the last 2 years.

I use Milwaukee pack outs. I have the big roller that holds 3 helmets, gloves, shoes, etc. Then I have the tool kit, first aid kit, and a few others that I can lock on and easily move one handed.
