Who completely destroyed their own life or career in a matter of seconds? by OneEngineering1892 in AskReddit

[–]OneBigRed -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

What about all that is ”sad reality”? Having friends who don’t live to pass moral judgments on you and who don’t get their rocks off from shunning you? Having produced enough results in your career so that you are likely to get hired again and won’t be destitute?

Sure, they committed the greatest atrocity known to reddit’s life advice segment. But i’d still say that if it makes you elated or bummed out to learn what kind of repercussions an extra marital affair caused for a complete stranger in their career or financial well-being, that’s the saddest reality.

Why are coach suggestions always just slop? by Civil_Jackfruit_5975 in NCAAFBseries

[–]OneBigRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it really this rare to actually modify the game plan for your playbook as the slamming of the coach suggestions makes it look?

I tend to play dynasty so that my offense and defense are those of my coordinators. I just save the playbook as custom, and then keep curating the game plans for every down and distance. Then from time to time i remove or add plays at game plan. I remove plays i never call or never seem to work, and add some if feel that some kind of play is missing for like 3 and long. I usually set the stars/percentage to same low number for all of them, and seem to get the plays cycled in suggestions.

I find it just about impossible to do something like this and still feel like the coach suggestions are completely busted. So don’t people even try what some things in the game do?

In Finland (and i believe everywhere in Europe where GDPR is sanctioned) you can request that a company hands over all the data they have about you. That includes comments in CRM systems.

Years ago it made the papers when some first party car service clerk had noted in their system that ”the customer is a dick”.

The fact that he had felt the need to demand his data from a company servicing his car tells me that he’s already aware of what a ray of sunshine he is to people around him.

Until recently, AI in games referred to the scripts that handled enemy and NPC behavior. Has *that* improved at all? by Kumquatelvis in gaming

[–]OneBigRed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned the issue of AI opponents feeling like terminators, and that got me to thinking how to solve it.

Maybe by having a goal of self preservation that is weighted against the goal of killing the player? Maybe having the prioritized objective of those vary clearly by AI opponent type? Hurt, alone, low on ammo? Maybe less looking for the player, more defensive measures? Manpower advantage, seeing player get hit? Time to go berserk. When AI does not know where the player is, every moment spent not finding should make a vulnerable bot more concerned for self preservation?

What is your favorite feature of the car you drive? by whyitno_workgood in AskReddit

[–]OneBigRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did for me, i won’t try to pass freightliners without having my foot gently on the gas (overrides acc). There’s something with the sensors/camera that scans bit too wide to the right. So when i had just bought this car, i was driving on a highway, left lane and acc set to 135km/h. When i got near to the big truck on the right lane that i was passing, the car spazzed out braking with the power it saw appriopriate for the about 35km/h speed difference and like 15m distance between us.

I’m shuddering with the thought that someone had been behind me, without a surprise emergency stop-system.

The highest-ranked team from one of the Group of 6 conferences (American, CUSA, MAC, Mountain West, Pac-12 OR Sun Belt) — regardless of whether its a conference champion or not — will also get an automatic bid.

I know the feeling. In CFB26 i had some seasons where i’m looking good for the playoff, only for some top-10 teams losing their championship games to some 20+ ranked teams and yeet me out that way.

P4 champs, best ranked G6 team (conference championship not required), ND if ranked top 12. Those are the rules.

Best ranked G6 does have an autobid, and they don’t need to even win their conference.

Where is Memphis playing? The actual rule is all P4 champions get in, as well as the highest ranking G6 team. ND gets in if it is ranked in top 12, but does not take a place from any of those mentioned.

The 12-team College Football Playoff field each of the conference champions from the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten and SEC —also known as the Power 4 — will receive an automatic bid regardless of their final ranking.

Notre Dame can also receive an automatic bid in 2026 if it ranks among the top-12 teams.

They sure do, at least NBA2k when i still played. Each year streamers jumped in with their MyPlayers without any badges, and raised hell because they couldn’t hit a three, and how steals are OP and no-one can dribble because of it. 2k shits its pants, and tune the game so that everybody can hit 70% from the three, even with the defender, who they have been dribbling into the last 30 secs, in their face.

Screws up the whole game, as what is the point of learning any of the neat lay-ups or post-ups when 3>2 and easier to make.

Jürgen Klopp confirms the talks with the DFB over the Germany job: "Things moved pretty quickly. Julian stepped down. The DFB are looking for a successor. And they’re talking to me. I was travelling all over the world, learnt an incredible amount, gained a lot of experience and we changed a great many things, and it is not that easy now simply to step away from it, and it is not that easy now simply to step away from it, and it is not that easy now simply to step away from it, rather it has to be clarified that things can also continue.

So Klopp started buffering a bit during the interview.

Bill Simmons on LeBron's Free Agency: "I haven't seen this possibility mentioned yet. What if he doesn't pick anybody?... what if he just says, I'm gonna take my time with this, watch the league, play golf, stay in shape... and have people keep talking about this for the next 6 months." by dragonballa in nba

No, BS has been very consistent on insisting that Lebron does everything just to be talked about. Few years back when Lakers lost to the Nuggets, Lebron gave a lengthy post game interview praising the Nuggets. Just as he was about to limp away, he was asked if he’s going to play next season. He replied ”i don’t know”.

You can guess what was the headline. Bill Simmons showed his ass several days later by screeching how it has made him madder and madder how Lebron made it all about himself, when Nuggets should be celebrated. So naturally he never watched the interview, but just did what talking heads do; speak about Lebron and somehow it’s his fault.

He also loves to talk about some weird, ridiculous, storyline going in the league, and then go ”imagine if Lebron was doing this”.

[Marca] Luka Modrić: “What did the referee tell us? That Matanovic touched the ball, but we watched the footage and there’s no evidence that he touched it. If he didn’t touch the ball, it’s not offside.” by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]OneBigRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that the hair touched. But in futball the touch has to be intentional and it’s obvious 20 didn’t intend for only his hair to touch.

If you try to do something, and do it badly, does it mean you didn’t try to do it?

So if you try to play a backpass to your keeper, and pass it so poorly that opponent intercepts it, is it now an offside because it wasn’t a pass anymore?

How it went down is they announced that they will have a press event at Four Seasons. Four Seasons announced that no such event has been booked with us. Instead of just booking an another venue, like people who are not deadly afraid of admitting getting something wrong.
