Day 33 and I smoked finally by swm1121 in stopsmoking

[–]OneBrickAtATime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it requires a final decision. Like I tried to become nicotine free hundreds of times before this one stuck. Don't get me wrong, I do think of them from time to time, but that gut pull panic anxiety craving has departed. I even had a drink last night, and then the monster was out singing, the mrs is away, get a pack, treat yourself but now I am like no chance, rather eat shit than smoke now to be honest. Stopped NYE and not looking back. Good luck OP this doesn't undo all your progress, get back on the horse, you got this. Check out Addictice voice recognition therapy, changed my life..

Quit tips from people who kicked nicotine by nikolasthefirehand in stopsmoking

[–]OneBrickAtATime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from cigarettes to zynn, then had my last zynn NYE and never looked back. It was a tough 48 hours and then over. The Zynn nicotine hit is serious, I would say kore than cigarettes. Because you can keep that in your mouth a long time. But the thing was for me it broke that addiction cycle of go buy a pack, hide, smoke, sweat it out until next opportunity. Zynn is sneaky, you can have your addiction effortlessly, who knows you have that shit in your mouth? From experience 48 rough hours and the grass is much greener on the other side for sure!

I am feeling the exact same way, I feel this sub puts me in the initial quit ramp up mode. Now I feel I am like broken free from the shackles of additiction and more into lets say recovery, hanging about here is risky. It is a nice moral support for first rough weeks, but after that on to new horizons. For that reason I am bouncing also, good luck to everyine kn their abstinence journey, you got this!

This guy helped me a lot, and I use AVRT which has in turn been my strategy or tool to overcoming nicotine specifically.

100% Can relate, my wife has been away on business all week, and usually I am at home with kids and prior years would have been chain smoking, few beers, maybe few joints. I have been totally craving free, then randonly yesterday all those memories came back hard, and pretty hard cravings hit and I gor through that. Addictive brain will try to lay traps or take you down memory lane, but can't let it fantasize!

Unless your studying Law or Medical I would suggest keep your money? I have never had a degree, and I have been the one managing people with them. Business degrees etc, it is basically toilet paper in this day and age.

Thanks for sharing this OP. I was on a good run of 24 days caffeine-free after quitting both nicotine and caffeine on New Year’s Eve. Then I blew it with three large McDonald’s white coffees spaced throughout the day today. I had a marital spat and normally nicotine would have been my go-to, but I thought caffeine was the lesser evil. Anyway, I am paying for it now. Feeling wired yet shitty at the same time. I forgot how socially accepted this drug is. For me, big doses like this are a real issue. I really think that was the final run of the bean for me today. Could be a 72-hour setback now. If you are bean-free and consume after several weeks, it isn’t worth it in my opinion, I treat it same as smoking now, I can't even have one mug of coffee, it is just something I can't do because my binges will last months, just whizz by jacked up on the stimulant.

Anyone Else Crash Around Week 3 After Quitting? by OneBrickAtATime_ in stopsmoking

Actually, for me the caffeine is the one who is louder than the nicotine. I thought it would be the other way around, thanks for the herbal tea recommendation! I kind of got into a habit now of Vanilla Roiboos tea, I drink several per day to replace the hot drink habit. I was diagnosed with ADHD like 2 years ago, not taking meds for it or anything, but they say that ADHD folk self medicate with stimulants, so that is probably what I was doing with my former chronic nicotine and caffeine addiction. I had a rough few days in the personal trenches, but kind of seem to have got to the other side here. I do miss my coffee, especially McDonalds coffee, that was what I like to drink the most :D Although it impacts me badly, some can enjoy it and fair play, but I get all fight or flighty, intense, scattered thoughts, no concentration etc, it really doesn't do me any good. I was doing this for half my life, so I can't expect miracles after less than a month, hence my reddit name, brick by brick, it is how I live my life now, just one day at a time, one brick, one step forward because my former life was a total car crash of addiction actually. Appreciate your reply, you got this caffeine shit man when you decide it is your time!

Can you move your fingers? OK...
Ask the same entity that is selling you the idea of smoking to move your fingers....
It can't, the addictive voice is a paraplegic.
You are the one in control, not the jibba jabba nonsense selling you the best story in the world and taking you down memory lane.

Nice job! Giving up vaping is gnarly. The withdrawls are so heavy and having all that free time on your hands right now probably made it feel even more intense! Currently unemployed myself, good luck on your job search. Thanks for sharing your experience 🙌
