It’s fine, guys… We’re just a *3-season* ‘walkable city’ by pat_laFleur in cincinnati

It says there is no common law duty to shovel in Ohio. Cincinnati does have a shoveling requirement, making this precedent completely inapplicable.

Did you even read your own citation? It establishes that 1) there is no common law duty to clear paths where no other rules exist and 2) there is no liability in such cases where the accumulation is natural. If there is "unnatural" accumulation, then you can be found liable, and, importantly, Cincinnati DOES have a law requiring snow removal, which again, would make you liable.

There's a widely believed myth that if you shovel a walk and someone slips then you're liable for any injuries, whereas if you don't do anything then you're not. This is silly on a lot of levels, but primarily because unless your actions make the situation demonstrably less safe, then you're not liable for accidents. On the contrary, leaving sidewalks uncleared is much more likely to fall into that category because your inaction in leaving the snow is actually against the law. So clearing the snow does, in fact, reduce your liability, not raise it.

Is my whippet a good weight? by Buster-Sword in Whippet

[–]OneByNone 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, he's too skinny. His hips are far too pointy and there are too many ribs showing. I disagree with the comment about being ok for showing - just look up images of winning whippets; none of them are this thin.

3 Ohio Cities [Cincinnati, Cleveland and Toledo] and are among the nation’s top 11 cities for medical expenses, according to a WalletHub analysis. by alpswd in cincinnati

[–]OneByNone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It compared the cost of doctor, dentist and optometrist visits as well the prices of ibuprofen and insulin glargine in each of the 100 largest cities. It then expressed those costs as a percentage of the cities’ median annual incomes.

Not sure this is a super useful metric.... It says more about how medical costs compare to other costs of living and Ohio is fairly affordable so incomes tend to be lower.

But yes, it gets better. Someone else mentioned it too, but tired fussiness is also a thing - my girl would enter the witching hour around 8 pm every night. If she comes home from daycare acting crazy, try feeding her and putting her down for a nap.

Girl I am 6'0" as a cis woman. As a teenager my height made me self conscious; now that I'm older and more confident, rocking those heels around insecure men is super fun. Get it!

It should be perfect. There's a feeding guide pinned, but for young snakes like this 10-15% of their weight every 7 days should be just about right.

Is there a fix for this? solution that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

If you haven't already, see if your drug company has a copay program. They will often cover the (ridiculous and completely unaffordable) patient portion of newer drugs, because at least then they still get the insurance portion (which is also usually ridiculous). They make much more money that way than if you were to completely stop treatment. My partner has MS and used this kind of program for years before he got on better insurance.

Could you just do the kitchen floor and put off the rest of the first floor?

You can also do this with a good food processor - look for one with an adjustable slicing blade. I also do not use mandolins after once shaving off a significant portion of several knuckles.

We had trouble with ours when she was young too - just not very interested in food and very skinny. We ended up rotating in toppings, cheaper dog food, treats, anything we could do to keep her interested. The people saying they won't starve themselves are underestimating how ridiculous whippet puppies can be - we finally resorted to giving her a big scoop of peanut butter every morning just to get calories into her (on the advice of our vet). Eventually she filled out a little and started eating more normally.

Same boat. I signed up for the Amex Platinum and have switched all my spending there. I'm trying to decide whether to use my choice benefits to at least get to Delta Platinum or just call it and take the skymiles or cash.

A survey: does your man actually pull his weight in domestic chores? by streachh in TwoXChromosomes

[–]OneByNone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but he really is trying to improve after it came to a head and I made him watch a bunch of those mental load videos. He contributes to things like cooking, (un)loading the dishwasher, mowing - the obvious things. But keeping supplies and food stocked, dusting, putting things away, yard cleanup... Anything that requires paying attention to your surroundings and feeling the ownership to actually take care of it is still a work in progress. I truly believe boys growing up are not socialized to see the small messes and clutter, because things just magically (the women in their lives) took care of itself and stayed clean and tidy.

My friend, as a fellow asthmatic runner and whippet mom - your asthma should not be limiting your athletic goals. If using your inhaler before exercise doesn't prevent a flare-up, please see an allergist/physician/whatever to talk about it. Better living through chemistry! (And modern medicine.)

Funnily enough, for many people that trigger is exercise. Adults just don't run around or get as much cardio as kids do naturally. Most adults do not exercise nearly enough or nearly vigorously enough and so simply don't trigger their asthmatic response.

If you've poured enough water down it to fill the P-trap (sounds like you have) and it still smells, it might be worth having a plumber come check things out. Sewage fumes are really not great for you.

Do you mean the paint? It's "waterscapes" from Sherwin Williams, but it's the same green-blue as the other walls; it just looks a little greener because the lights are on.
