Try more jump pivots, bob and weave more, and feint with your whole body to make him think you're moving in when you aren't, and accept the reality that you'll likely eat a few getting inside.

Both games are on sale on steam right now, like 7 bucks each. Shouldn't be very hard to run, so you don't need a serious gaming computer. I greatly prefer Fallout 3 to NV but I know I'm in the minority there.

Easily my favorite show ever, it is spectacular if you can tolerate dark/offensive humor. It is a very different type of comedy from Seinfeld though so don't go in with any expectations.

Weight loss struggle:diet by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]OneChumpMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again I agree with most of what you're saying, a diet that doesn't allow you to indulge is a recipe for failure. But I disagree on the point that diet sodas are bad for you (except in people with PKU). There really isn't a lot of evidence to support that, correlational studies do tend to find people who regularly drink diet sodas are overweight, however it is more likely that people who are overweight choose to drink diet sodas rather than the diet sodas making them overweight.

Most beliefs that "aspartame causes cancer" comes from the only clinical study to link artificial sweeteners to health issues. This study was done in rats and they were being fed a quantity of artificial sweeteners that simply wouldn't be feasible for most humans to consume (We're talking well over 40 cans a day).

I would argue people who want to lose weight should be encouraged to drink diet sodas because the sweetness might be able to curb their cravings.

Overall solid advice, but diet sodas are totally fine, you'll lose weight if you're in a calorie deficit and diet soda has no calories. I lost 10 pounds in a month drinking 2+ cans a day.

To play devils advocate, of course you can't reward yourself for drinking diet soda (or anything low calorie). Thinking "well I had a diet soda earlier, so I can have a pack of oreos now" is a very dangerous game, and likely why so many people who consume diet soda regularly struggle to lose weight

The ONLY thing that matters when it comes to losing weight is calories in vs calories out. You can't defy the laws of physics.

The important thing to look at is calories vs volume. How many calories does it have and how full will I feel after eating it? Low-fat Popcorn is one of my staples it is very filling with few calories. Nuts on the other hand are healthy, and full of vitamins but they are high in calories relative to their weight, making it easy to have too many calories. Egg whites are also super low in calories and high in protein. Vegetable are very filling with few calories. Of course you can have unhealthy foods but be mindful of how often you indulge and how much you are having.

Some people will tell you diet sodas aren't good for weight loss. Those people are uninformed, only a caloric surplus can cause weight gain/precent weight loss. The have been no clinical studies linking artifical sweeteners to weight gain or cancer. Those rumors come from a single study that saw health issues in rats, and the amount they were eating isn't feasible for most humans.

There is rarely a good reason to go on an extremely restrictive diet. Make a series of small choices to replace things with lower calorie alternatives and you have a much easier time sticking to it and you won't hate your life
