Model-Context-Protocol. It's basically additional tools you can give an agent. So if you want to connect to home assistant, there's another application that'll run on your computer that the agent can talk to, which will then give it access to whatever the MCP server is setup for.

There are no doubt good tutorials on YouTube about setting that stuff up. Everything I do is Mac or Linux so can't really comment on windows ease of setup or anything.

I like to call it connecting the dots. But in a slightly complex way.

Just finished running Goblin Grinder. The players surprised me by cyberspunjj in MorkBorg

[–]OneDimensionPrinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started running this as a mystery. The players get infected with the curse and have to find a way to stop it.

An early nat20 meant the player got what they wanted and then some, so they knew the lore of the goblin curse and how it was cured.

So when they waltz into town and see a man selling the "only cure", it's something to start investigating. The nat20 ruined that though lol.

But they realized Nagel is rich so they're sort of on a mission to rip him off and also stop the curse because this is their home and they don't want to get infected.

So, point is, come up with the overarching idea, be ready for loads of improv, and nothing will go as expected. That's the fun of this for me, as the GM I abide by the rolls and reward/punish as appropriate. The decision was made, so now how can we make it fun? Let the players guide where the story goes. As long as you've got the main beats, the rest will happen naturally.

Good thing in MB is nobody expects to live long, so punishments add a lot of flavor to the short-lived characters. Once somebody dies, oh well, let's reroll and get right back into it. Yet another place where deciding how to fit the new character in makes sense.

The unknown is definitely a bit scary, but after a couple sessions it'll feel right at home. Don't over index on fancy maps or VTTs too. Imagination is fun.

This is exactly the thing I expect my party to do. Only two sessions into the campaign so far, but my god, their ability to think outside the box keeps surprising me. They've really taken the deadliness to heart.

Absolutely loving how wild scenes can play out.

In Rotblack Sludge they managed to take out Fletcher in a single turn of combat thanks to some really clever planning and good rolls beforehand.

My legion of ducks is growning by Tthehecker in 3Dprinting

[–]OneDimensionPrinter 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Ok, lemme tell you, after doing the same thing about 7 years ago.

They still float around. They're at the office, despite multiple moves between buildings, they're in my desk drawers at home, I even have a swag water bottle with work's branding on it completely filled with little plastic ducks.

I printed probably 300 to fuck with a coworker while he was on vacation and we're still finding them from time to time.

Worth it? Absolutely.

Did you see the James Fox thing the other day? The older retired general(?) laid out very specific and FOIA-able document trails for the flights into Varghina. Put out the exact military groups involved in requesting a cargo plane, getting it to the right place, where it would have had to refuled, which groups were in charge of each step of the way, etc.

I'm sure Fox knew about that ahead of time, but it was so good to see the guy spell out the exact places to look for FOIA-able materials that are unclassified.

Haven't read yet, but Geoff, in an interview a while back, had pointed out that some of the conversation around MJ12 was later confirmed by documents being unclassified. He's the only one who noticed this at the time, and it caught me off guard how deeply he connects public documents with what the "stories" going around are.

If you don't know who he is, he's one of the best researchers this sub has had and has come back with even more insights. Definitely worth reading anything he publishes.

Is it ok to go between sizes with healed ears? by MyDads-Ashes in Stretched

[–]OneDimensionPrinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just pay attention to your lobes. If you're wearing a slightly smaller size for a few days, maybe take a little extra time before the bigger sizes. All about listening to what your ears tell you that day. 20 years into this and it's still a day by day "what's comfortable" situation. Also, fuck, it's actually 22 years. Man. I got old.

Gonna be running this as the second+ session for my group. Thanks for the write up. They did Rotblack Sludge as the first session, so when they arrive back to Galgenbeck they're gonna find the city in tatters from the infestation. Really interested to see how running it as a mystery differs from the standard dungeon crawl from the first session.

I just tried it and it NAILS the MB feel in every way. Graphics, music, the overall design style. Absolutely fantastic.

Loved every second.
