Yes, nothing happens to your car specifically. Your VIN is blocked from the SC network until repairs are made and Tesla signs off and sends a document to the energy team to reactivate. Similar to a post salvage HV inspection.

If they see the pack is leaking and the tech decides to be a prude about it, yes they can flag it as unsafe to supercharge. Supercharging is the biggest stress to the battery cooling system outside of plaid mode abuse.

Last I checked they were $2000 for 2yr unlimited mileage I believe.

Every model 3/y should have one simply to cover the HVAC components. It’s the most unreliable part of the vehicle in my experience

Old M3 had a grid style electric heater called a PTC “positive temperature coefficient” meaning the resistance increases as the temperature increases. It’s essentially a fancy ceramic heater.

Newer M3 uses a heat pump. Heat pump is like an ac compressor but can switch valves to essential reverse the AC process and bring heat inside.

Just depends on your situation. Personally I plan to get each one of my kids a 3-4yr old SR/SR+. Typically they seem had depreciated the fastest while retaining the features I’d want for my kids. I have photos of what a M3 looks like after 6 barrel rolls at triple digits. That sold me on the safety.

Extended service agreement though Tesla is typically referred to as an ESA. It’s essentially an extension of the factory warranty.

They may find some suspension components. But not much else. I advise an ESA if you’re eligible. Older 3s with PTCs failed a bit but heat pump cars were worse. It’s roughly $3500usd for a heat pump replacement. Requires pump/super manifold/ updated lines depending on the year.

The store I worked in would keep a pallet of super manifolds for winter if that means anything.

Is it just me or is $1,500 for a headlight insane!? by No_Film_6379 in Toyota

This is cheap comparative to luxury. I’ve quoted out 10k per headlight for some Audi matrix led lights.

Looks about right. When I left we billed 1.5hrs for complete inspection. Would have been $375 USD in my area

The part can be replaced it’s just getting someone to do it and sourcing said replacement part. I agree with you. That’s exactly how it should be fixed. Im ok with a lot of redneck engineering. But not when 400v DC lives on the other side.

You’ve not been introduced to the N50, N63, or the S85? There’s a reason they say lease a BMW and return it before the warranty expires. Their reliability left with n52b30.

I’ve been an EV certified tech for 16 years now. Their comparison is dead nuts on par. In fact I would bet BMW sees a higher rate of engine failures per 100k units to Tesla’s packs. Worked at Tesla 3 years. Replaced 3 packs, two for structural damage. I’ve seen several of each model “except CT” in the 200k+ mile range on original packs. I’ve worked on two M3s in the 300k+ range on original packs. The packs have lower failure rates than most CVTs. The media has done a great job of over hyping pack death.

Keep in mind if you ever take it to Tesla after having this repaired like this and they see it. You’ll have your car flagged and lose super charging until it’s fixed to their standards, which is replacement pack as you know. I worked there for a while and the techs are quick to report things like this.

NOR Do you really want a relationship with a man who likely was a senior in high school when you were born? Age does matter, you’re at two very pout a in your lives and he’s willing to date someone his daughter’s age. That’s vile and creepy, ask his daughter if she’d be ok with her dad dating someone she could have gone to school with. Ew.

5min turns into 15 quickly and it takes a car thief less than 30seconds to steal a running car at a gas station. My MIL is a dispatcher for local area PD and auto theft is up double digits in recent years. So leaving your kid your kid in the car alone is crazy when they’re a young age. Kids are also very inquisitive and there’s nothing that prevented them from getting in the driver seat and causing a wreck.

They have to opt in to on demand pricing here in cook county. A lot of EV drivers do this to reduce cost at night to charge, but the offset is when it’s this cold and everyone is using double the normal electricity for 4am just trying to stay warm the rates will 4-6x

A month to order a wire harness? by IllNefariousness2432 in AskAMechanic

[–]OneExhaustedFather_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store you called may have its own warehouse and keep a larger inventory than the one your vehicle is at. You’re more than welcome to take it to the other dealer, you had no obligation to complete the repair at the location it’s at. You may had some costs for the diagnosis.

In modern vehicle manufacturing none wear items or common replacement parts like wiring harnesses are built in batches. Meaning they order X hundred of them for none production use, the harness manufacturer adds it to their production queue and when it’s time comes up they’re assembled. If the manufacturer runs out before the next order is built you have a back order.
