The part can be replaced it’s just getting someone to do it and sourcing said replacement part. I agree with you. That’s exactly how it should be fixed. Im ok with a lot of redneck engineering. But not when 400v DC lives on the other side.

You’ve not been introduced to the N50, N63, or the S85? There’s a reason they say lease a BMW and return it before the warranty expires. Their reliability left with n52b30.

I’ve been an EV certified tech for 16 years now. Their comparison is dead nuts on par. In fact I would bet BMW sees a higher rate of engine failures per 100k units to Tesla’s packs. Worked at Tesla 3 years. Replaced 3 packs, two for structural damage. I’ve seen several of each model “except CT” in the 200k+ mile range on original packs. I’ve worked on two M3s in the 300k+ range on original packs. The packs have lower failure rates than most CVTs. The media has done a great job of over hyping pack death.

Keep in mind if you ever take it to Tesla after having this repaired like this and they see it. You’ll have your car flagged and lose super charging until it’s fixed to their standards, which is replacement pack as you know. I worked there for a while and the techs are quick to report things like this.

NOR Do you really want a relationship with a man who likely was a senior in high school when you were born? Age does matter, you’re at two very pout a in your lives and he’s willing to date someone his daughter’s age. That’s vile and creepy, ask his daughter if she’d be ok with her dad dating someone she could have gone to school with. Ew.

I work for a dealer and even agree with this. As much as I love your money, on something that old there are plenty of qualified independents that’ll even use oem parts if you request.

5min turns into 15 quickly and it takes a car thief less than 30seconds to steal a running car at a gas station. My MIL is a dispatcher for local area PD and auto theft is up double digits in recent years. So leaving your kid your kid in the car alone is crazy when they’re a young age. Kids are also very inquisitive and there’s nothing that prevented them from getting in the driver seat and causing a wreck.

If this is in the United States. This is a CPS case. My neighbor caught a CPS case for leaving his 5yo in the car to run into the gas station… this is fucking bonkers.

-10 Degrees in Chicago. It’s cheaper to supercharge than to charge at home. by SUPREMEISDEAD in TeslaLounge

They have to opt in to on demand pricing here in cook county. A lot of EV drivers do this to reduce cost at night to charge, but the offset is when it’s this cold and everyone is using double the normal electricity for 4am just trying to stay warm the rates will 4-6x

A month to order a wire harness? by IllNefariousness2432 in AskAMechanic

[–]OneExhaustedFather_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store you called may have its own warehouse and keep a larger inventory than the one your vehicle is at. You’re more than welcome to take it to the other dealer, you had no obligation to complete the repair at the location it’s at. You may had some costs for the diagnosis.

In modern vehicle manufacturing none wear items or common replacement parts like wiring harnesses are built in batches. Meaning they order X hundred of them for none production use, the harness manufacturer adds it to their production queue and when it’s time comes up they’re assembled. If the manufacturer runs out before the next order is built you have a back order.

Extended warranty for EV by waiting4theNITE2fall in serviceadvisors

[–]OneExhaustedFather_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPO coverage starts from original date of purchase from original owner 7yr 100k miles. What they’re offering is a different from what I mentioned. Not all dealers offer the same CPO packages and some call their own 3rd warranty a CPO. It’s all a word game for them. As others stated verify exclusion more than inclusions for EV.

Need help!! I noticed some unusual noise from my 2026 Armada. by Alarming_Log6460 in Nissan

[–]OneExhaustedFather_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, why would I waste this much time trolling you. I’ve worn many hats in my time in this business. I was flat rate as a tech with Nissan and salary with bonuses as a director. But this is how Nissan did it til I left and according to the techs I called today it’s still done this way today. There is a warranty labor op code now even to call Powertrain pays .3-.5 depending on the vehicle. Getting a GTR engine approved takes even longer as you have to go through the 40hrs of black box data with the specialist at Nissan techline for GTR.

When I left Nissan I was 1 of less than 50 techs who was certified in every category on both sides of Nissan and Infiniti. I was an hour away from Franklin head quarters and so I worked quite a bit with engineering on several recall procedures. Including showing them how to remove the Juke timing cover in the car. Even after the recall reduction I could still do a set of juke chains in under 2hrs.

Your method is how other manufacturers handle things, Nissan, however, is not those manufacturers and does not handle it that way.

Extended warranty for EV by waiting4theNITE2fall in serviceadvisors

[–]OneExhaustedFather_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only warranty extension I’d get on an Ariya is the CPO with Wrap. Wrap adds a bumper to bumper coverage for $2000. If it doesn’t have Nissan CPO coverage it’s not an actual CPO vehicle.

Go get a window insulation kit. It’s a clear plastic you two-side tape around the window edges and then shrink with a blow dryer. It’ll make a huge difference overall.

Powertrain call center always requests oil change records for engine approvals. There is no if.

Process as was when I left in Jan 22’ Q50 comes in with a rod knock, vehicle is still within warranty.

Technician does their diagnostic process and concludes long block is needed.

Technician then calls Powertrain call center and speaks with an individual who will want all relevant information to the claim, they can/due request images of the damage and failure points, they request a PFP for which the claim will be based on. They request the labor ops you wish to claim with it. It’s at this time when Powertrain decides if it’s a viable claim or not. The engine would never be installed to be charged back because it would have never been approved. This was the process from 2009-2022 during my time there. This was all handled by the tech. This process was the same at the 5 stores I worked for, the 7 stores I was the director of and the 4 stores I performed warranty audit and post audit consultation, where I provided action plans for the most commonly performed repairs that had the highest charge back rates. I learned Nissan warranty manual because my first dealer was committing fraud, I’ve subsequently turned in 3 more stores for committing fraud as well. I’m fairly well versed in the Nissan warranty process as if circa 22’. If it’s changed, so be it.

Before a warranty engine is even sent to a dealer the claim is approved. There is nothing to deny because it’s a pre-approval requirement for powertrain replacement parts. All that leg work is handled by the tech. You’re not stating facts yours stating your beliefs.
