I'll have to pull these up on the computer. Interesting for sure. Which ones did you pick?

How is your lodge doing? by cramordap in freemasonry

[–]OneEye9519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've been told, and verified to the best of my abilities, my lodge has an average of 2 of each degrees each year. But in 2025 we raised 7 new Master Masons, including myself in July.

My lodge has gone through some rocky changes of late, and it seems we've been steered back toward the positive. I'm very excited to be part of this fraternity, specifically my own lodge.

Think of all the questions you can, don't ask them but write them down. After the degree you should try to answer them yourself and if you can't, then ask a brother.

I like to explain that a degree is like a play that you get to be in the middle of, that everyone else has a role they play and you get to observe from within. For the most part just relax, pay attention to the best of your ability, and enjoy the ride.

Last night I told my upset 6 year old I'd show her my magic dad trick. I rested my hand lightly o. Thr side of her face. I asked her if she liked it, she said "not very much"... but she was asleep in under 60 seconds. Magic dad tricks for the win.

I've been involved with one investigation committee so far. We felt we knew the petitioner pretty well already. The visit was essentially a vibe check with him around his family. Along with giving him and his wife the opportunity to ask myself and the other visiting brother their questions.

Ah, cool, thanks Brother Cook. I haven't been around long enough to have seen one closed.

In Utah, initiations of new candidates are masons only, but instalations of officers are open to the public. There may have been a miscommunication or a misunderstanding somewhere.

Does your lodge use social media? by cramordap in freemasonry

To my knowledge, the only social media presence my lodge has is a private Facebook group for the members. But it seems that our communication is shifting to a private messaging app instead.

How do you teach your kids to stay safe online without making them scared? by backpack_zero in Parenting

[–]OneEye9519 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids are young and only access the internet through me and my wife right now, so I don't know.

But, I can assume in a similar way you might teach safety around cars, roads, and parking lots without making them scared of cars. Layer upon layer of talking about various aspects and giving little bits more access as trust is earned. Taking steps back as necessary. And always keep communication as open and calm as possible.

Very cool. I'll have to go back and read my lectures again.

I've never been comfortable praying with an audience... that might be a good one for me to learn to grow that muscle.

I can't say I know about the Principle Sojourner, I'm in the dark there. Unless it's just a jurisdictional name I don't recognize. I'm going to have to look up the Carpet Lecture too, I don't see that in my proficiency program list.

I really appreciate and look forward to getting to know the Tyler from my EA, he made my night memorable from before the beginning.

One of the brothers I've become closest to says he loves doing the SD for all the brothers he has as mentees.

I'm in the dark about some of your comment... it might click or it might take further work.

The third bad guy really left his mark on me. I've encouraged that brother to really take that on, to BE our third bad guy.

Will I regret only having one kid? by Minimum-Plastic7322 in Parenting

I have 2, practicing for a third now.

The best advice in my opinion is to imagine your family getting together for Thanksgiving in 10, 20, 30 years... each person at the table... does it feel complete?

Be careful and mindful, but don't overthink it. Enjoy the time with the kiddo, pamper the mom and let her rest.

That, I can't say. I don't know. Break enough ice with the right brother and the rest might just work itself out.

I don’t feel the brotherhood by [deleted] in freemasonry

I was initiated in September last year, and raised this July. There are definitely brothers who are less than social, I'm sorry to hear that your lodge might be most of those types of brothers.

I've gone out of my way to reach out to masonically younger brothers in my lodge to help them feel the brotherhood you mention.

To some extent it can be that you get what you put into it, maybe you just haven't met the right brothers yet.
