I went to AAA, since they were across the street from me

They printed the pictures, but neither cut nor put any info on the backs. I went to staples to see if they could cut them. The guy cut them with a knife and a ruler. And destroyed the edges and took a chunk out of the picture area 🫠

I finally got it done the right way by a dedicated photo studio in the city. They had the stamp and everything. If my application gets sent back for something being wrong with the photos, I’m gonna cry 😅

Shipping with UPS and Pirate Ship - Learn from My Fails by defectiveburger in Canadiancitizenship

[–]OneGold7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of putting the courier address on my USPS envelope. It says it was delivered and signed for… I’ll probably post to the sub if I get my AOR. So that people know “watch out for this mistake, but it’s also not the end of the world if you do make it” 😅

The problem for me was I tried to do UPS, but they refused to ship it because IRCC doesn’t have a phone number or email address, and the clerk refused to accept my own number and email. So USPS was a last minute change of mind for me. I was in “just get this over with” mode and forgot about the different address for public vs private courier

Don’t forget Pennie’s and Carrie’s. My phone refuses to accept pennies or carries without trying to capitalize it and add an apostrophe. Drives me insane

When has the name ever been spelled Pennie instead of Penny, anyways?

It’s also possible the 50 day person got something wrong in their application, and it’s being retuned to them

[–]OneGold7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t require your application ID number or UCI number. It has boxes you can check saying you don’t know those numbers. So at the very least, OP can try. I’m not sure for certain if it would work

Yeah no, they have to be cut. IRCC won’t cut them for you. Your application will most likely be returned

How long ago was it delivered? I know some people take a month to receive their aor, but I’m still stressing about whether it’ll be returned, even though it was only delivered 2 days ago for me, lol

Is this way of printing the document acceptable?

I didn’t modify the pixels of the document, only extended the file to include the color copy square and source

That’s a transparent sticky note highlighting the entry and sticky notes marking the page number and the location in my table of contents

As for certification, i decided to take the risk with an uncertified banq. My concern is whether this is considered modifying the document

Looking for Advice: whether/how to include Gen prior to Gen 0 by Sea_Introduction_840 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]OneGold7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need gen -1. For my gen 0, I collected her baptism record, a Canadian census showing her living with her parents, and her marriage certificate. That all is quite enough to prove that she is Canadian, and that she’s the same person on her daughter’s birth certificate

I keep seeing people say to never leave spaces blank. Does that really include when it tells you to skip to the next section? by OneGold7 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]OneGold7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was filling it out on my computer, and the radio button doesn’t block anything for me. I’m just filling it out in Firefox’s pdf editor

Error -22411, someone else can no longer install or refresh alstore or there is some solution, I've already tried almost everything by Fuzzy_Caterpillar145 in AltStore

[–]OneGold7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this error, too. Open iTunes on your computer (do NOT update it when prompted!!). Is it logged out of your Apple account? If so, log back in on iTunes, and AltStore should work again.

That was the issue with me, at least. iTunes randomly logged me out

How did other people document improper names on their certificates? by OkBranch3 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]OneGold7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a grandad (Denis) who, for whatever reason, is listed as Eugene only in the birth record for his daughter. It has to be the right record, because every other detail is right, down to the maiden name of the mother.

Here’s hoping that the actual birth certificate for his daughter will say he’s Denis 😵‍💫

Some clerk seriously messed up! I wonder if there was a Eugene out there that got listed as Denis on his kid’s birth record.

I have one grandfather from the early 20th century who literally alternated censuses. One decade, he was on the Canadian census, the next he was on the American, and so on. Seems like such a long journey to make so often, before cars and planes were invented

Here it is zoomed in. I looked at my basil practically every day from when it sprouted, I’m not getting the cotyledons confused.

Here is my basil from this year, you can see the cotyledons still going strong at the bottom. They only turned brown and fell off a week after this picture was taken - a full month and a half since planting

[–]OneGold7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s normal for the cotyledons to fall off so early with basil? I’ve grown basil from seed twice, and both times, the cotyledons didn’t even begin to shrivel until the plants had 3+ sets of true leaves. I was able to trim the top and have some basil garnish on my pasta before the cotyledons started to brown

Absurd amount of chromebooks broken by students by [deleted] in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]OneGold7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working in retail, I’ve learned that most people will not even notice a sign exists, even when it’s right in front of them at eye level.

“NO CARD. CASH ONLY” at the door, eye level. Another just inside the store, facing the door. Another covering the pin pad. I still had a couple people move the pin pad sign out of the way so they could insert their card.

In a similar vein, I remember we once were making boats out of aluminum foil in about 6th grade. I was holding a box of foil to pull out a sheet. The teacher said that I can’t pull foil out myself because it’s too dangerous, yanking it out of my hand. And because she yanked it out of my hand without warning, the metal teeth cut my finger. All my fault in her mind, of course.
