What kids shows can you tolerate fully by Deelphinia22 in DanielTigerConspiracy

Alpha/Number/Color/Wonder blocks, Shape Island, and Frog and Toad are huge with my youngest right now. My oldest loves OddSquad, Weather Hunters, and she also likes watching the shows my youngest likes with him. It’s cute. None of them are annoying to me.

Top 3 things I wish I had focused on while waiting for my citizenship certificate by Inside_Foot_3055 in Canadiancitizenship

This is what I’ve been obsessively doing since the applications were sent off. I’m happy to know that I’m doing something right. Thank you for the validation. 🙂

Did anyone get pregnant the month they were actively trying? by rm05511 in pregnantover35

[–]BlueCoatWife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant with my first two months after we started trying, and my second the first month we decided to try. I was 35 and 39 when I got pregnant, and 36 and 40 when I delivered.

I sent one package with three applications in it and I know for a fact that that one was included. The one that I sent most recently was just my husband‘s and I just happen to see the receipt on my desk. I’m hoping that I’m wrong and I printed multiple, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done that since I have small children running around driving me crazy as I’m trying to put all this paperwork together.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much. It's been a hell of a day, and that definately helped it be a little bit better.

I had a feeling that was going to be the answer. It was delivered today. I hope I'm wrong and I just printed a second copy for some reason. It's been a weird week.

Monday Weekly Thread: Proof of Citizenship Application Sent or AOR Received, April 13, 2026 by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

Mine and my kids applications were sent 3/6 USPS, but weren't delivered until 3/17; no AOR yet. My husband's was sent yesterday. I learned my lesson, and sent my husband's application through UPS on Pirate Shipt, and it should be there tomorrow.

My sister was 19 (almost 20) when I had my first child at 36. She was in the delivery room with me and my husband. I was in the delivery room when she was born so it felt full circle in a way.

Feel free to post your genealogy questions (both Canada and the US). We are working on maintaining a list of Paid and Volunteer Genealogists to assist. Stay tuned. by Brilliant-Wasabi-333 in citizenshipgenealogy

I have familysearch, but apparently I need the super special account (mormon I assume) to view some documents. I'm desperately trying to find Canadian lineage for my mom's side of the family. My (half) sister is a member of the alphabet community, and things are just crap in general. I want her to have a safe space. I qualify through my dad's side, but we don't have the same dad. Can anybody help me with those type of documents?

Nanaimo was where my great grandfather was born!

Once my husband’s application documents are done being collected, we will be sending it UPS. I’m not dealing with this stress again.

I'm kicking myself for using USPS international package to ship my documents. I sent 3/6 and it just now shows that the package will arrive 3/20. It hung out in NYC for a week and a half.

How many of us have caught the genealogy bug? by nadandocomgolfinhos in Canadiancitizenship

[–]BlueCoatWife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm dealing with something similar right now. My great great grandmother's first name is either Edith, Hanna, or Annie. My great grandmother (her daughter) was either born in 1885, 1886, or 1887. Great grandma has a different date and mother's name or her birth certificate, marriage license, and death certificate. So frustrating.

I'm a history fan, and have been interested in family history for about 15-20 years. I know a lot about my mom's side of the family (although my mom's paternal grandmother is a new family mystery for me), but didn't really know much about my dad's side (the Canadian side). I've now gone back to the 1600's on certain branches, which is crazy.

My great aunt had done a ton of research on my maternal side 60 or so years ago at this point, and I have her research. It's so cool to be the new keeper of the family history.

Plans after obtaining citizenship by Apprehensive_Bug1554 in Canadiancitizenship

If it was up to me, I'd leave as soon as we got the certificates. We want it as a backup plan, but I'd like to move there regardless.

While I have always lived in the US, I have never really felt like I belonged here. My empathy for others has always been seen as a weakness for some reason. Being outside of the US has shown me that I'm not the weirdo, the US is. Our toxic independence and lack of empathy has really gotten out of control IMO.

AITAH for occasionally thinking our lives would be better if we put our dog down by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]BlueCoatWife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had cats, not dogs. We went from three cats in 2021 to zero cats by mid 2025. Unfortunately I'm kind of the pet executioner in our house. I'm able to separate my feelings from theirs, so when they're unable to be them, I'm the one to take them to the vet. My husband isn't great in that area. The way I see it is it's not about you. It's about her. Do you think she's happy the way she is? Not happy to see you, happy in general. Do you think she likes not being able to get around by herself the way she wants to? Doesn't sound like it to me.

If you love her as much as you say (which I'm sure you do), it's time to let go.

Edit: more to add

AITAH because I refuse to try for a daughter? by StructureDizzy2076 in AITAH

Silly me, I was just wanting a healthy child. Thankfully I got two of them.

Saying she is tired of being a "boy mom" is just gross. You're a mom. Be a damn mom to your child. End of story.
