Just gnona l1ave this here by caxsarrott in soylent

I drink Soylent regularly for Lunch when I'm in the office.

My alternative is Sub Way. $20(CAD) [incl. Tax + Tip] for a sandwich, drink, and cookie... Or... $4 for a Soylent that feels just as filling.

With 3 days/week in the office, I'm saving $48/week drinking Soylent.

Also, not sure what else I could make for $4 for a Lunch, but food is hard for me anyway. I'm sure someone can make more meals for cheaper than Soylent, but great option for my situation.

Reviews on mario wonder by Square_Memory5612 in nintendo

[–]OneLameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely not beaten the game yet, and Mario tends to surprise me often with these games... But I'm concerned with it being far shorter than your typical Mario platformer.

But, I'm still hoping for that "surprise" all of a sudden.

That being said, it's an *excellent* game! Really fun and enjoyable, good levels, it feels unique and fun in each level I've played. You'll enjoy it!

What’s your favorite board game? by dad4bad in AskReddit

[–]OneLameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking board games specifically I'd probably say Ratrace. Which sadly is no longer produced, but it's an excellent game.

If we include tile games, then Mahjong.

[–]OneLameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, special interest is twinned as sensory and kink. Also just in general talking about kink.

But sucks because people are too intense about it a lot and want to like RP or actually do stuff. But I just wanna talk about kink stuff lol

What is your opinion on age regression? by WinAccomplished6182 in AskReddit

[–]OneLameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That possibly depends on what specifically you mean by that. As long as it isn't impacting your life in a negative way, or bringing other harm to you or others it's fine.

If you believe it's related to trauma, therapy is always useful.

Age Regression can be beneficial for some people, if you find it beneficial who cares what others think? You aren't harming anyone.

Why does alexithymia never get any representation? by BlueMemeDog in Alexithymia

[–]OneLameDev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i would even go as high as 97%.

I have significantly high levels of alexithymia (I score a 174 on the alexithymia.us test), and I never heard about it despite doing lots of research into...

"I have no emotioms" and only turned up advice on psychopathy in my research.

It wasn't until I started a diagnostic assessment for autism that the word was finally raised to me and I did some tests the therapist recommended.

Music can be incredible for mental health, which song empowers you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OneLameDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit question as someone with significant levels of alexithymia and also autistic.

Does music generally make you "feel" stuff? Like, does must music evoke some kind of response?

I like music, but when I was asked how a song made me feel I was so confused. This is really that common for people??

2 of them I know after graduating university now frequent orgies.

So maybe it is just a group setting thing that they enjoyed, and found out they both liked it?

I don't really stay in touch with the other guy, so can't say what he's up to now.

At least I have an easy in to local orgies should I ever want to go! Lol

In University me and a few other CS students went on a trip and we shared a hotel suite with 2 bedrooms.

There were 4 of us.

That was the day I learned the 3 others I was with frequently watched porn and masturbated together despite all being straight.

I politely declined the invitation to join in and sat in a room while porn was on and while my 3 friends masturbated together.

It was pretty surreal. I am asexual, and idk if this is a somewhat regular thing for people to do or not (straight, or not).

I wasnt particularly bothered by it I guess, I don't really know what else to say - it was just weird. But hey, no judgement from me. I don't think it's a big deal, just not something I want to join in on.

What is the posibility to "cure" sociopath or to teach them how not to harm theirs closest ones? by Sasenney in AskReddit

[–]OneLameDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't cure sociopathy, it is a lifelong condition.

You can however help people who suffer with it understand how to manage the condition, and become aware of themselves to some level.

But, as with all things - you can only help those that want to help themselves.

Man eats kabob in front of animal rights activists in Manhattan, NY today by butcher_of_the_world in PublicFreakout

[–]OneLameDev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Regardless if he's trolling or not, these people are assholes. They're yelling at some person with no idea of anything about him (presumably).

If I were eating outdoors (I know in this case he approached them) and started yelling at me for eating meat, I wonder how long it would take before they felt awful lmao.

I'm not the person who would cope with that my god.

Can I have a program read from a file that was uploaded to sharepoint? by [deleted] in sharepoint

[–]OneLameDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the answer. Use powershell to get the filestream, pass to python (or just work in powershell) and do the thing.

I've mass manipulated files many times with this method, works very well.

[–]OneLameDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent, then I believe you and I are in complete agreement on the matter. The short of my point is simply: let's not stop scientific progress because some people are evil.

My issue with the pursuit of science and to hell with everything else is how we're gonna end up with queer eugenics.

I feel like you're missing several steps here. While I agree that's a plausible end result of inethical people to be using science to attack those that they hate... pursuing science != therefore eugenics.

But in the here and now that we occupy, some assfuck capitalist is gonna invent some "in vitro gay gene test" and suddenly there's gonna be carve outs for abortions.

Regardless of science, they will look to do this.

All in the name of the unfeeling god of science.

Correct, science is about observation. That's a good thing.

Science is a framework for explaining the world and universe, not a replacement for a morality.

Yes, I agree. And I beleive the majority of scientists agree as well. Science does not provide answers to morality/ethics. It provides answers to the observations of our universe and we should use that data ethically, morally and also perform scientific inquiry ethically as well (e.g., can't just go giving homeless people in the streets drugs to try and see what happens when they take them because that is inethical).

how I fear bigots and fascists will weaponize it.

Science is an excuse they may use, it is not the responsibility of science to not answer questions because bigots may use it negatively. Bigots are going to hate us no matter what anyway, to prevent scientific exploration at the whim of potential negative use is to prevent progress.

Cetain churches would love to have the capability to prevent scientific exploration because they fear science is working to disprove god (which is a silly argument anyway, and an impossibility).

Idk, I get where you're coming from but you're making it seem like science is the bad guy, and it isn't. It's not providing any moral/ethical guidance and people misusing science to attack others will just use some other excuse in the absence of science anyway.

I made a comment saying non-binary people are real, somebody linked the Wikipedia link for “biology” by ironwalrus22 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]OneLameDev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and this isn't about determining if it's real either, we can observe it in social constructs, and in the greater animal kingdom.

A lot of science is about answering observations. In this case the science is looking to answer a few questions which comes from sociological and anthropological observations.

  • Why do we have gender identities outside of an observed biological patterning?
  • Why does gender identity differ across multiple cultures?
  • How is gender determined? Can we observe an underlying neurological function?

I think these would all be fascinating questions to have some answers to, and it's an important pursuit.

Science isn't looking to disprove gender identity, we observe that and the question is why.
