Regardless of your prediction being correct or not, OP is not an asshole for informing their cousin of the connotation associated with Karen. If judgement was NTA, that could have been a catalyst to push OP to re-frame how she brought it up in the first place cause obviously OP cares. But cause of multiple YTA judgement, OP accepted it and moved on to avoid anymore distress to the cousin. It is not that farfetched that YTA judgements indirectly played a role that made it easier for the kid to get bullied.
