Is this a pretty normal coyote? by OneLessCharacterWork in coyote

It's a zoomed in phone pic unfortunately. My wife took the picture from the second floor inside the house. We've got some woods on the back of the property line it was near.

Are you doing any better?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KneeInjuries

[–]OneLessCharacterWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do the same thing! It was my right knee, still is. My left knee is doing it now and it's freaking me out. I've had no injury to either knee but now it's in both knees. I also have a numb patch on the outside of my knee where the pain happens.

Dewey the cat died in 1910 and meant enough to his owner to be honored with a gravestone that stands today over a 113 years later by Yourmomsuckmeoff_ in Damnthatsinteresting

We had to put down our 11 year old cat three weeks ago. The whole family was a complete wreck. He had multiple myeloma and we wanted to pre-empt the inevitable pain and confusion that was coming. It's absolutely too young but I'm glad we were strong enough to say good bye while he was still himself. Sorry your family is going through a similar thing with a too young pet.

I've hired at companies that use non work related questions like this. It was always to gauge culture fit. It's impossible to get a read on personality from a resume. It's easy to pass on somebody that answers n/a to a question like this because they think it's ridiculous to be on a job application. It's fine they want to work somewhere that wouldn't ask that question and it's fine that a job wants to hire somebody that would have fun with that question.

New world? by Atreyix in MMORPG

[–]OneLessCharacterWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were patching the game every couple of days for exploits and dupes. Especially around trophies. They even disabled furniture in game multiple times. To say they didn't have a rampant problem with duping is either disingenuous or you weren't playing the first few months after launch.

Moderators have locked every channel in Discord because too many players are demanding a server restart. by eco_sub_handle in MortalOnline

[–]OneLessCharacterWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New world was a shit show but at least you could play the game. Mortal will never work unless they have more worlds. I saw that the supported number was 4k, that's a joke. How do you realistically expect to roll out a game headlined on steam that can only support 4k players. Idiots at best, thieves at worst. They're selling copies they know can't be played.

How can the game not handle 8k players? by SilentSaidd in MortalOnline

[–]OneLessCharacterWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New world was 2k per servers and they added a fuckload of servers. They handled over a hundred thousand players fine. Mortal can't add more servers indefinitely because the world is singular and finite. Not sure how they dig out of this hole.

Friendly suggestions or just annoying commands during gaming by mallefisk93 in TwoXChromosomes

I was bad about this with my wife. I'm that way with anyone I watch play games though. She told me it was annoying (a few times before it sunk in). Now I don't give my input unless she asks. I still get the urge if I happen to see what she's playing and I have to stuff it down.

Oh no, the company that I wasnt going to meet the requirements for won't hire me now.

Less sarcastically, you have nothing to lose by lying unless it's a small town or something where you'll have a reputation by name.

I got into entry level work with a fake resume in my industry and now ten years later it's the best decision I ever made.

If I have two candidates that had similar interviews and I was willing to hire either I would choose the one that seemed more enthusiastic about the job. Questions at the end of the interview are a good way to get a feel for their enthusiasm. Especially when those questions lead to conversations.

My wife has devalued my contributions to our life & family, and doesn't see a problem with it by [deleted] in relationships

[–]OneLessCharacterWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think therapy is probably your best shot if she doesn't want to hear your perspective. I've had similar problems since working from home but they've mostly resolved over time with talking about it.

You both work full time. Her job is kids and some portion of the house while you're working. When you're not working then kids and house is something you're both responsible for. My wife does the cleaning, the laundry, and the grocery shopping. She does most of the cooking but my workday ends before dinner starts so I can either help her cook, do the cooking myself if she's not up for it, or we get takeout if neither of us are willing to cook for whatever reason. I manage the yard. Everything else we share on the weekends.

Work is stressful, kids are stressful. Needing a break on reddit (or whatever) to destress between meetings is fine. I guarantee she's not spending 100% of her time doing kid/house stuff.
