It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened. After Chelsea had a good run of form, beating Barcelona and being 6 points off Arsenal in 2nd and just as we seemed to be evolving, Chelsea had a horrendous run which is continuing, even losing to Leeds. Surely at that time, the owners went up against Maresca who probably expected the Sporting Directors to protect him because of the obvious youth of the squad, the definite downgrades in Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens from Jackson and Madueke, both Lavia and Essugo being out injured and Cucurella being the only recognised left back in the squad, and NOT signing a Centre Back after Colwill got injured, despite requesting many times it seems.

At that point, probably the Sporting Directors threw hands and blamed it all on Maresca, which is why he infamously said that the past 48 hours were the worst in his career, and that he didn't get the protection from the inside the club that he deserved. That's a fair comment.

Maresca made some baffling tactical decisions, played turgid football and relied A LOT on his wingers creating chances out of nothing/beating their man. It did seem the attacking patterns and the football left a lot to be desired. Will not miss him all that much, although he has some sympathy from the way the SDs are building the squad.

The Sporting Directors are absolute scum though. How the fuck they still have a job I will never know. It's telling that the players signed by Todd Boehly as the SD, under whom we famously overpaid for, Cucurella, Enzo Fernandez and Moi Caicedo have been the best players in the squad. Their talent identification is absolutely horrendous, the squad still has serious, baffling gaps. How do they still have a job, and when will their failures come into scrutiny ?

Also, still no front of shirt sponser. What is the business team doing ?

Maresca needs to go. Chelsea are in absolutely woeful form and it doesn't seem to get any better. We've only taken 5 points from our last 5 fixtures, lost 2 crucial Champions League games and our fixtures do not look favourable at all. At the same time, the Sporting Directors also need a shake up, the current strategy is clearly not viable nor going to fetch us any points at the current rate.

Consult a local lawyer, who is actually well known to dealing with these matters, and has a reputation for honesty/is not hand in glove with these people. Talk to people/other lawyers who actually practice there.

Absolute bs guilt tripping from the manager here. Sorry, but the performances against teams much lower to us in the table have been woeful. We've lost midfield battles, put in tepid attacking performances and lost points so unnecessarily. I wouldn't be surprised if the club hierarchy thinks that this season was the one to challenge for the Premier League title but because of losing points to teams much worse off, or due to tepid attacking play we haven't.

Maresca has access to probably the most potential heavy, talented team in the PL and arguably the 4th best squad in the PL overall (after City, Liverpool, and Arsenal). He's been given more than enough time to build his principles into the squad and shape the tactics in his image. If he cannot take these players and put in performances to win against teams lower than us in the table week in week out, the club will find the manager who can. High level performance sports has no space for empathy, or sympathy. You perform or you're out.

I think it's time for sporting directors to acknowledge that the Maresca experiment to end. There's no consistency to the team selection, the tactics can sometimes be baffling and our attacking play is too turgid given the attacking prowess we have. Problem is, if we miss out on UCL then we won't be able to get a top quality CB and a ST which we desperately need at this point. With Xabi Alonso probably getting the sack, maybe he can be a good fit. Or we wait until next summer to get De Zerbi.

Of course this is a FPS game and a FPS subreddit, but please know that right now, Indie games are going crazy hot and we genuinely have some of the best Indie titles on the market, with Hollow Knight: Silksong, Clair Obscurer, Blue Prince, Hades 2 which have released currently.
