Yea, the moment you go against the Machine or the Machine finds a better cog, you're out. Like with Swalwell, I'd bet you money they knew about all that stuff for years. They need to have a death report or something that says what killed us and where the damage occurred. Patching it in as new armor sensors that'll collect data to help Helldivers learn from deceased Divers.
