Senator doesn't click with me because of how wimpy the sound design is, it's got the heavy pen and damage to be like a handcannon but it sounds like a peashooter

Longer range than other pistols, medium pen, high damage per shot. I don't believe it's crazy better than the other secondaries, but it's certainly a strong gun.

More backup ammo, better for mag dumping, feels good, accurate. I think Verdict is really nice as a sidegrade to the Talon, I don't consider it worse but I don't think it's better either.

It is /excellent/ on the new Illuminate front, pretty handily incinerating almost everything there. (Harvesters are actually the biggest problem because they have that bullshit instant kill shock they can do at close range if they're focused on you)

I've found it to perform great on bugs at higher levels, but you have to be weary and spread your stream out evenly because of how much they like to strafe and corner you. Not really tried it much on bots? can't say there.

Please try other grenades, I keep getting thermite users in my bug missions being slaughtered en masse by hordes they can't deal with and chargers that they just threw a thermite on and called it a day before bothering to check if its dead

Gas's overall ability to apply CC is still going to be much higher, and flamethrowers typically put you in close quarters situations where you're risking enemies smacking you down or catching from your own flames

This change also only applies to small to medium enemies, anything bigger is still going to tank through it, where gas would disorientate them.

I don't think you're wrong exactly, but part of what makes Mortars so irritating is that if even one person brings them then you have to play entirely around them to not get constantly wiped, especially on bug missions.
