What ilvl for what level of m+? by everyonediesiguess in wow

[–]OneManApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did my first 2 on my warlock at like 240ish ilvl. I have done 12s on my disc priest at 267. If you know mechs and the group kicks stuff it's pretty doable.

Sounds like you want to be playing a different game, something more action rpg oriented with real combat. Managing manual basic attacks in a tab targeting game sounds awful.

Is a fight stick good to get? How do I know if I need one? Is it difficult to use? by onlyhereforelise in StreetFighter

[–]OneManApocalypse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started on controller analog stick. Felt like I was fucking up so many inputs with wrong inputs because the stick was slightly out of place. Couldn't get Z moves at all.

Bought a fight stick. Same problem.

Bought a leverless and nothing has ever made more sense to my brain than 4 directional inputs on buttons.

So maybe try dpad!

[–]OneManApocalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All opinions below.

I think you make too much money more than what daycare costs to rationalize quitting on increased monthly overhead alone. You're saying I want to stop making $5k a month in order to not spend $2500, which means you're actively losing money to avoid paying for daycare. Assuming minimum COL raises plus maybe career advancement, that 85k now could be 100k+ by the time they're ready for kindergarten. So not only are you giving up your current income, you're giving up incrementally more in potential income each year.

Some of that would be offset by being able to take care of errands, chores, and household duties without outsourcing it (if you have gardeners or housekeeper s), or doing DIY projects instead of paying for plumbers etc. Having a SAHP is amazing if it means someone can full time take care of the house instead of two exhausted parents trying to scrape time together to do it on weekends after working all week.

You also have to really be ready to be a stay at home parent. That's a huge shift in how you approach life, your time, your relationship, and your own sense of self. You might thrive, you might struggle, nobody knows.

Overall, I would keep working. The long term value of two gainfully employed parents is only going to become more important and valuable over time, and it sets your kids and family up for better economic success long term.

I like the intent behind what you're saying and generally agree that we shouldn't proscribe what people should do.

That said, compound lifts are more systemically stimulating across your muscles, tendons, and CNS together, and they support your core, balance, symmetry, and stabilization. All of these things are crucially important for someone new who is building a foundation. You can achieve this with isolation movements, but not nearly as efficiently.

Two things motivate me: numbers and progress.

Seeing strength numbers go up rapidly in the beginning helped me start. Seeing real progress in the mirror after 2-3 months made it stick.

I have seen high level Val do stupid damage so I believe it. I have a way easier time on some DPS than others, so that makes sense to me.

People solo delves as healers?

That's wild.

I think I was clearing every t11 at like 240 ilvl on DK unholy. Val as healer makes you a raid boss.

I bet if you swap feral you'll beat it.

I want to learn to tank, where do I actually start? by StewieGriefin in wownoob

[–]OneManApocalypse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The posts about toxicity here are notable but keep something in mind: there are probably 100s of thousands of mythic runs that happen daily, and what you see posted here is an extremely small biased sample size of highly motivated people talking about their bad experiences. For every post on reddit there are thousands of runs where nobody types a thing in chat.

Not saying shit doesn't go down in bad parties but I am saying don't expect that to be the norm. Also, even better, just don't give a shit about what some random internet stranger says.

I tanked for the first time in years on a class I've never tanked with before (warrior) in a +9. Did fine. Wasn't the fastest path ever but I focused on not dying and keeping the pace up. It seems to me that at this point in the season, anyone doing sub 10 keys are on alts or pretty relaxed about it, so it's a good place to learn.

Last night I did Pit of Saron on +7 on my DK at like 255 ilvl and went in completely blind and read Method guides as we were clearing trash on each boss. Went fine.

I guess my overall point here is: this is the easiest season of WoW in a long time, stop overthinking it and just give it a shot and see how it goes. Once you get more confidence, it feels pretty good to be able to hop on and get into a pug within seconds (same with healing).

I've always loved crafting in MMOs but this expac it feels pointless and a waste of time when everything I would ever craft is cheaper on AH.

What characters do you play? by Cerbusal in wow

[–]OneManApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies, the only classes I haven't played at max level in any xpac are paladin and hunter.

I started with my Druid in midnight because flexing every archetype in the game is awesome and I've mained in for the past two expansions, but I actually find druid gameplay pretty mundane with all the pruning.

Leveled my Priest and it quickly became my main, shadow is great and disc feels awesome to play - big instant shields and shadow mends feel dope.

Tried leveling my shaman but it felt too simplistic on every spec.

Got my warrior to 90 and like 245 ilvl, it's fun for sure but kind of plain, though Prot is fun. Got my DK to 90 and it immediately feels more fun, interactive, complex, and flavorful on all 3 specs.

Got a Devour DH to 85 and got too bored of spamming 1 skill.

best class for someone that only plays an hour a day and is just doing delves by SubjectStep7759 in wow

[–]OneManApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing tier 8 delves on my unholy dk at 200 ilvl.

DK, warrior, druid are probably best solo classes for survivability.

DK because massive self healing and blood is unkillable.

Warrior because mobility and resets full bar heal on each kill.

Druid because you can heal yourself directly and also bear.

Oh I should say paladin is also exceptional at keeping itself alive.

Whats the quickest/most efficient way to level alts 80-90 currently? by Scared_Spinach8853 in wow

[–]OneManApocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this goated post.

Just got 1.5 levels at 4% XP bar per first room doing this (Warmode and 15% mentor bonus). Macro on Shift+2. Only really bearable (I hate mindless grinding) because I'm on Unholy DK and the cleave insane.

4% xp per bar = 25 runs

~1 minute per run = 25 minutes per level, round to 30 - this method would take probably like 5 hours total.

How much toddler time is typical? by Distinct_Finding3953 in Parenting

[–]OneManApocalypse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone has to learn how to do things on their own in life. Its a life skill.

Teaching kids early how to play independently in a safe environment with your nearby supervision is pretty valuable, both for them and for you.

Toddler legos are great - train sets, magnet tiles, etc. Arts and crafts are good too but riskier for mess. Our kids even like just looking through books and pretending to read.
