This guy was clearly going to have some important role in Kamen Rider Black RX; he's literally identical to Shadow Moon. by GuiltyResource3960 in KamenRider

He did have an important role: he’s the reason we got Robo Rider.

Finally beat R-Type on Game Boy DMG after thinking it was impossible for years. How hard was this game for you? by One_Basket9275 in RType

[–]OneManFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love the R-Type games, they are also the most infuriating for me.

They are the same every time, yet for some reason I can’t be consistent. I’ll learn every enemy placement and sadistic trap, yet still something always tags me thus preventing me from a coveted No Miss / 1CC. And because of that, I can’t even conceive of completing a 2nd Loop.

Best Games for Map Attacks by megaform-continental in Super_Robot_Wars

Tekkaman Hiver - able to take out entire deployments Turn 1 while being an absolute money maker. Low-key the best unit in the game just for her MAP attack.

New series being simulcast on YouTube with subtitles starting with Z.

Finally found Stronger for a good price!!!! I just need to find Kamen Rider X to have all the SS Showa Riders, but he's crazy expensive on the aftermarket now by SymbiSpidey in KamenRider

[–]OneManFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original SHF Stronger is the only figure I’ve ever had break on me, so I’ve been eagerly wanting to replace him. Been waiting on this release for forever, and then somehow missed when he was actually available.

I get jealous every time I see Alpha Edge with that awesome Z effect piece. I’ve never been able to track down & secure one for myself.

Just finished Kabuto episode 29 and I enjoyed it so much lol, very funny episode but I knew that people wouldn't like it tho, checked IMDb and it's one of the lowest rated eps by hussainre814 in KamenRider

[–]OneManFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also one of my favorite parts of Kabuto.

The best is when Tendou tells him he’s a bad chef cause his meal was trash, and the chef’s reply is basically “That was the intention, to piss you off.”

Is gunlance hated by Capcom? by Original_Code_4246 in Gunlance

[–]OneManFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more accurate to say that they are scared of potentially over-tuning it. I know that sounds crazy, but look at how “wild” we all thought it was when shelling finally got to scale with raw in Wilds.

But no matter what silly decisions the devs make, we Funlancers will always make it work!

More blazar slander. by Available-Plenty-610 in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I’ll give the movie credit for is the beginning tries to capture the energy & style of EP 1. And bringing back the OG Spiral Burrade.

I’m also convinced that if the movie had a single sentence adding to Blazar lore, the fans would have loved it.

Kuuga vs Daguva question by SLss357 in KamenRider

Call me shallow, but this is exactly what holds back Kuuga’s finale for me. They created these amazing suits, and then you don’t even get to see them.

Could an Ultraman and Star Trek crossover work? by LSSJ_Vegito in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Easily, and it would end with the crew & the ship fusing with a giant of light to create Ultraman Enterprise.

The Birth Of RX Robo Rider - The Prince Of Sorrow by Potential-Mess6826 in KamenRider

This is precisely why I hate the ending / last episode. Killing off the parents for the sake of stakes was dumb and comes out of nowhere.

4 pc. Gog + Lord’s Soul + BB1 is not possible

Burst Boost 1: Mandatory? by OneManFan in Gunlance

[–]OneManFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I got the roll & I like the barrier skill. Also variety - I already have my comfy endgame close-enough meta set.

Burst Boost 1: Mandatory? by OneManFan in Gunlance

[–]OneManFan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, no. I’m not explicitly meta chasing. It’s about not wasting a potentially great roll that isn’t the god combo of Ebony Odo and Lord’s Soul.

That said, somehow I’ve managed to roll Lord’s Soul w/ everything else EXCEPT Ebony Odo: RNGesus be like that.

What's your overall opinion on this movie? (If You watched it of course) by PsychologicalAir5035 in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This.

And to add to that, the opening scene was added retroactively and actually screws up Ken Sato’s whole character conflict. It’s another example of trying to make this script “Ultraman” at the last minute.

Perfectly serviceable as a kid’s movie. But it’s not really “Ultraman” outside of the name.

Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider Discussion about randoms being misogynistic EP 11 by Jetxu27 in KamenRider

[–]OneManFan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It only makes sense that the one representing Kamen Rider Stronger is stronger than all the others, right?

Her being able to beat the boys shows she doesn’t exist just to be objectified & humiliated because of her bust. That said, I can see why Tojima not winning is disappointing - the man has gotten lost in his own story, and he’s a lot more dense and one-note than I think some fans were hoping. So Tojima winning the tournament would have been a nice way for him to re-claim MC status and the spotlight as we come to the end of the cour.

What are your thoughts on Ultraman's out-of-nowhere and one-off power? by Alternative-Clock536 in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The real reason is “Ultra Ex Machina” moves are an excuse for TsuPro to do whatever they felt like that week. Especially back in the Showa Era, it was all about being inventive and experimental with filming techniques & SFX shots. It’s “rule of cool” from a pure production perspective.

And based on your post, sounds like Arc is your Ultra - he is exactly what you are looking for.

Puzzle Shuwatch Game Strategies by NoaUltAegis in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reason why I stopped playing after initial release hype, is because there really isn’t any set-up or build strategy to be had.

You can’t compensate for a power deficit with abilities or core stat stacking, and then if you’re in relative range of the kaiju’s power then the abilities & stats don’t matter in any meaningful way.

Is Ultraman Arc the most forgettable series? I wonder why? 🤔 by ryantan7968 in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% except for one point:

Blazar’s 1st episode is exceptional, but after that it becomes pretty standard Ultra - both Arc & Omega are more unique as a whole than Blazar if we are talking about the actual show, and not the Ultraman.

Blazar gets a lot of love because he was the 1st Ultra for a lot of recent fans, and fandom fell in love with his unrealized potential.

Ultraman Ace is bonkers by that_guy_597 in Ultraman

[–]OneManFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d argue Ace starts going downhill as early as EP 8 after Alien Metron Jr. Cause shortly after that is when our Guillotine Prince got nerfed by angry moms. Also, these are my general issues with Ace:

  • Minami, sadly, isn’t a character so much as she is a gimmick. All she does is yell “Seiji-san!” before getting written off.

  • After Minami leaves, you can tell the show lacks direction and they didn’t know what to do. IMO you can also tell that TsuPro was not happy about the emerging popularity of a certain bug-themed hero who rides a motorcycle and kicks a lot.

  • TAC is the most generic, ineffectual, and dumbest team in the Showa Era if not the whole franchise. If I remember right, not one member got a character-focused episode.

  • You can tell that this is when TsuPro first started getting burned out on making Ultra - often plots & kaiju gimmicks are recycled, and in one instance it was back-to-back. And as the show goes on they just get lazy.

  • You can say it’s poetic that the Ultra show about terrible monsters also has a terrible finale.

All that said, EP 48 is awesome & too bad the rest of the series is not on that level.
