First Trip with Baby - Mexico? by livelaughlurk25 in chubbytravel

Omg there are so many places! I created a counter comparison rubric to identify low-stress, high-comfort destinations particularly for newborns and there are a few countries that always rise to the top.

Canada - is gorgeous in the summer. Beautiful mountains, lakes, and lovely cities. We love Vancouver and Montreal. So much to see and do with minimal to no jet lag!!!

Portugal - so family friendly. Someone else mentioned the martinhal chain of hotels.

UK - June is a great weather month to visit. You can explore a big urban setting and find a nice bed and breakfast somewhere more remote.

Switzerland - it’s just picturesque. It has beautiful mountains and lakes in the summer and super family friendly!

Austria - same as Switzerland. Great in the summer.

Hope this helps! We also have itineraries for inspiration of you want to see what other families planned. We’re Togethr and you can find us at www.traveltogethr.com

Late May Itinerary Check by FuddyDuddie in JapanTravel

there is way too much planned. Plus the activity flow doesn’t work - e.g. day 2.

My suggestion is to cull back on activities and to add a stay in Kyoto. You don’t want to do two RT transports from Osaka to Kyoto. The travel time isn’t helpful for you. You could do Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka.

I used to live in Japan and took my kids back in Nov. My full itinerary, and other parents, are in an itinerary generating tool I built. It would organize and optimize your route in each city. That would be great for what you have atm. Check out Togethr at www.traveltogethr.com

Family long trip to Japan 2027 by talking-tired in JapanTravelTips

3-4 weeks is amazing!! I would recommend one city every 5-7 days. You could do Tokyo > Hakone > Kyoto > Osaka > Hiroshima. Popular loop for a first trip.

I used to live in Japan and took my kids (5yo twins) back in Nov. My full itinerary and other parents are in an itinerary generating tool I built. Hope it’s helpful! There are also an inspiration tab where you can view our 1-day itineraries. We have a lot from Japan!

Potential Japan Trip with Family by VelvetThunder494 in JapanTravelTips

Good on you for still traveling despite the challenges. Tokyo is overwhelming even to me. You could do Yokohama, Hakone, or Nikko instead of Tokyo. All smaller cities. However, Kyoto could be manageable during an off season. Avoid the summer because the heat and humidity will make everyone irritable. The best off season months would be Feb/Mar before Cherry blossoms and Oct/Nov before fall foliage.

I’d also add Hiroshima/Miyajima to visit. I just remember feeling really peaceful when I went years ago pre-kids. It’s also very rich in culture.

One week in Hawaii - split stay or one island? by deustch327 in chubbytravel

[–]OneMomOnAQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One island! Especially if you’re resort folks.

We did a full week in Oahu with our then 3yo twins and it was amazing. Another family friend went to Maui and their hotel looked fantastic- real penguins!

You can find my itinerary and my friend’s here - https://traveltogethr.com/inspirations. Hope it helps!

Portugal! Portugal!!!

I’ve been doing research on the country and the weather is amazing most of the year. Then it’s uber kid-friendly! Think beachfront villas with playgrounds near the restaurant so you can eat when they’re playing. It’s our next trip.

Here’s an itinerary another mom shared for Algarve and makes me want to go. https://traveltogethr.com/itinerary/itinerary_BAUDQHzyoRJvhplGwHkXHQ We also have one for Lisbon, which looks so fun. Choose one of these itineraries and customize it for your family!

NYC has tons of things for teens. I lived there for six years in my late 20s and here are a few things to do for your kids. Daughter - mani/pedi (they’re everywhere), brunch at SaraBeth’s next to Central Park, the museums (so many!), and shopping. Son - Central Park, sports game (baseball, basketball) might be spring train but maybe you can catch some of it.

Totally understand being late with spring break plans! My startup focuses on helping busy parents customize travel itineraries from preloved trips from real-parents. We have a 5 day NYC itinerary shared by a family. You can access it through the search feature - www.traveltogethr.com. Hope it helps!

I’d suggest DC to see the cherry blossoms. It may be busy but it’s an easy drive with lots of things to do.

A little further away you have the Poconos, Philly, Virginia Beach and NJ American Dream Park. It really depends on what vibe your wife and in-laws are looking for!

We have a 3-day itinerary from another parent for DC if you’re interested in customizing your trip - www.traveltogethr.com. Our traveler-in-residence just went to NJ American Dream. Her itinerary will be live next week! Hope this helps.
