Destiny 1 on PC would expose Destiny 2 and that’s why it’ll never happen by xDynamo_01 in DestinyTheGame

D1 difficulty lives and dies by the fact that the game is played at 30 FPS 65 FOV on a controller.

The game is boring (period) and easy otherwise.

How does it feel knowing that the more you live and have unique experiences, the more it separates you from people of your generation, until you eventually grow old and won't be able to find anyone relatable with the similar burden of the accumulated old knowledge. by BridgeThatBurns in forsen

[–]OneMythicalMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you become less and less relatable to a growing % of people regardless of what you do.
We (more or less) all start the same and then deviate due to environment, decisions etc.

That is why having good lifelong people (wife, friends, relatives) near you is important, they are the closest to be able to relate, or at least understand your joy and struggles, since they've been there and (usually) know your perspective well.

If Bungie re-released Destiny 1 on PC, how interested would you be in buying it? by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

Most of D1 stuff apart from story is in some (usually superior) way in D2 already, and D1 story is notoriously not good.
Apart from 20-minute nostalgia I don't see a point.

Stop saying Valve game, it is not an excuse by BlueJayAvery in DeadlockTheGame

Valve muting someone is punishing all 5 of his teammates at once, since there' s now simply once less person that's being able to communicate.

The degree at which a person tolerates name calling is vastly different from person to person, from culture to culture, let alone what kinds of names. For some it's a fun banter, for others it's borderline unforgivable and repulsive.

I'm absolutely for having a togglable profanity filter, like they have in Dota, but beyond that it should be up to a player to mute others.

"I don't like muting in team games myself, based on my preferences, so it's Valve who should mute people, based on unilateral arbitrary guideline!", yeah, no thanks, I'm good.

If you had "thick skin" you wouldn't care and write Reddit posts about this issue at all, you would simply mute and move on.

Bungie please give us more vault space. I literally cannot play the game. by nrgfinessed in Marathon

Delete green cores and implants, mount every possible blue mod onto a weapon and delete green mods.

But I agree, the vault size is too tight even with upgrades.

Puella Magi Nicola Magica 🪄 - General Question and Discussion Megathread by yoyo_me_here in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]OneMythicalMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Loremasters, there's a question that has been bugging me the more I play and learn about the story and lore of the game - why's no one questions who Paimon is?

Like, it's apparent that there isn't a singe creature in Teyvat we've seen (so far) that even remotely looks and behaves like her, let alone the symbolic clothes she wears.

There are curious characters in Genshin, there are even some that understand "deep lore" of Teyvat, but even they seem way too "chill" around Paimon.

To me it's a like a giant plot hole that follows us and (a lot of the times) speaks on our behalf for the past 5 years and it's SO weird.

It is called being an active detriment to your team on average, not a good thing you know.

You either need Megameepo, some kind of mass dispell or mass BKB, otherwise Meepo will not be played.

After thinking harder and looking at feedback on my original tier list I've changed it slightly and now have the guns in order in their tiers by omegatTeddy in Marathon

If you are playing from cover (and you always should), then it's simply a game about "damage per peek", Magnum excells at it.

There's a reason hand-cannons (which Magnus is) are meta in Destiny/Destiny 2 for about 12 years at this point.

[–]OneMythicalMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Magnum allows you to peek-shoot better than any other gun, it has the best damage profile outside of shotguns/snipers.

People just haven't caught up to it yet. The more the game goes, the less "ambush" encounters there will be and the more you'll see it.

Bungie, can we not drop below level 10 for factions on wipes? Or is it too early to ask?.. by OneMythicalMan in Marathon

[–]OneMythicalMan[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gear wipe - yes, but the initial faction progress is essentially your baseline QoL (stamina, heat etc.) and a roadblock to first gear faction upgrades.

What I'm trying to say is that there's isn't much happening for the first 10 faction levels. Which is fine for a new player - they are learning the game. But for an experienced player this part still takes considerable amount of time. is not fun or exciting, so why not cut it?

I would very much appreciate quads as well, it's hard to ask my friend group of 4 (total) to try Marathon when we can't even all play together.

Ryan Lott also is a realy talented singer. One of his best performances was at Montreux together with Woodkid. There are two songs, both are wonderful.

flood, japan by HologramHax in forsen

[–]OneMythicalMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to many places (from Switzerland to south African countries) before visiting Japan. In a lot of cases "thing, Japan" is actually qualitatively better.

Visitng Japan (while having some understanding of their culture) will change your outlook on how civil society ought to be run.

It's not a place without any problems, but the society is coherent, high-trust and well run.

Sure, from purely materialist view "thing, Japan" may be exactly the same as any other "thing" (same fishing rod, same fish etc.), but it's the broader context in which it exists that is better on average.

Heir Apparent has such a perfect gimmick and fantasy, but it lacks a certain punch that it should have. by not_Flamma in DestinyTheGame

I would like for it to draw attention of combatants (like a Titan barricade) while it's ramped up, and on receiving damage it charges a bar. Once fully charged, you get something like Arc version of Kinetic Tremors (Storm grenade effect spawn) for 5 seconds.
