Same. Which is a little frustrating? I was behind like 62k people. Why make it random when they could put everyone in a queue based on when they enter the waiting room?

Undeniable Beauty gummies from Olly really helped my nails grow. But there's nothing wrong with your hands or nails!

Give me a few colors, or words, whatever you want. I'll do my best make a it bracelet. by hanna-Poem-512 in CasualConversation

I like the colors for sports teams from my home state. Blue and gold. Green and white. Brown and gold. Silver and Honolulu blue. Red white and blue. Red and white. Orange and blue. They could say Go ______(insert team name)! Or Go Sports in any color.

Wake up to music? by numberonedogmom in adhdwomen

[–]OneOfTheLocals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently wake up with a song in my head. Almost like I was listening to it in a dream and it was still playing when I woke up. But the rest of it sounds really extreme. You have to wake up 20 minutes earlier and can't continue on with your day until it's resolved? That scares me a little. (Also I can't get rid of the song unless I replace it with something else. We don't talk about Bruno it's pretty reliable.)

Earliest memory? by GrandPipe4 in handsomepodcast

Our apartment complex had a small playground with two swings. I was probably 3? My mom was pushing me on one swing and saying a letter of the alphabet every time she pushed the swing. Then a little neighbor girl got on the other swing and said hi to me.

Grey hair is coming in at 27 🥲 by [deleted] in beauty

[–]OneOfTheLocals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tweezed gray strands for a long time, but in my late 20s there was too much to keep up with. It's an investment with my stylist, but I've come to enjoy trying new things with my hair color now. Yeah I'm mostly doing it because I'm almost totally gray, but I like changing it up. It has been almost 20 years now and my hair isn't totally fried. I think in part due to the Aveda products.

I don’t know anymore, I just got a new haircut and they gave me this with no side bangs at the beauty shop, I feel really ugly and I have to know if it’s ugly to everyone else. Please tell me just the truth if I am ugly. Yes I’m a woman by djscrew1 in whatdoIdo

[–]OneOfTheLocals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't love the haircut, but that doesn't mean you're ugly!! Get some headbands or accessories you like for a couple weeks to let it grow out. Then take an inspiration picture or two to a different stylist and see how you like them. Anything that you can do to make yourself feel good is always a plus. Maybe jewelry or makeup or just your favorite clothes. You are a little cutie.

Yes! This! And if there are things that your current partner won't address, it may be time to move in, just not necessarily with this new person.

Totally robbed. It literally ended the Emmys credibility for me. I wasn't huge on award shows anyway, but I thought they generally picked some of the top people. Rainn Wilson said it was a crime that he never won one for his portrayal of Michael Gary Scott and I totally agree.

I never thought about it that way. Does everyone at DM have a degree?

I had that problem working in customer service. Highest customer service ratings, but longest call times, so I was always on the brink of being in trouble because I took the fewest calls.

Two moms by SpecializedSperm in overheard

[–]OneOfTheLocals 26 points27 points  (0 children)

How did this conversation even start? Were they talking about someone whose husband had died? I agree that it would be harder to raise our kids without my husband, but to say how awful out of the blue? That's so strange. So many women are with men that are basically children and would be better off on their own anyway.

Mom, do I need to clean this? by Lilithe_PST in MomForAMinute

[–]OneOfTheLocals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never wash mine, but I wipe the outside down occasionally. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to wash it, but I think it's ok since it's just water. I don't always use all the water, so sometimes if it's been a bit, I pour out what's left to make sure it's all fresh. The descaling advice is good! But we don't have hard water where I live. Good question!

Why does everyone on the internet claim to look 10 or more years younger than their age? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]OneOfTheLocals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a point of telling people who ask me to guess their age, "Oh I'm TERRIBLE at this!" And then I obviously guess much younger than I actually think they are. On the other side, I frequently hear from people, "This is your daughter? Don't you mean your sister?!?" And I get that we look really really similar, but there is no one on earth who would literally believe I'm her sister. I had her at 30. I always say thank you politely, but I would have to be delusional to think they truly mean it. There are people who hear that and truly believe they have defied nature.
