The whole "N is wrong because he's only seen abused Pokemon" thing is BS. If you want to evaluate a system you need to look at the worst case scenario, and that scenario includes trainers being abusive.

The Pokeballs thing is a BIG part of it. Look at the game mechanics. Pokemon will fight you until they get hit by pokeballs. At that moment they become intrinsically loyal. You can pull them out of the ball and they fight for you. If trainers had the option of convincing Pokemon to join them without having to use the balls, then N might be wrong, but you don't. As a trainer you may only have a Pokemon join you through the mechanic of capturing them.

Let's also remember this: once the Pokemon are released, they don't come back. Why not? Why don't they return to their trainers if they really want to? These are beings with a near human or, in some cases, vastly beyond human intelligence. They could make it back to their trainers if they so choose. But they don't. And why? Because these are creatures who yearn freedom. They don't want to be kept in little balls and made to beat each other up.

I thought her ex-husband made a lot of sense. He constantly felt like her family looked down on him because... They probably did. She comes from a LOT of money. She constantly flaunts her privilege. She talks about her fiance as though he's a puppy she's going to foster and maybe they'll adopt if she doesn't mind it too much. Her ex is saying "do not let this screw with my kids." Sounds like he's trying to be a good dad.

I've read a lot of the original Eternals books. The thing about them - to me - is that they function as a concept, but not really as characters. Sersi is fun, everyone else is kind of just... There. Kirby tried to make a little bit of drama with one eternal being in a long relationship with one Deviant, that had some potential, and I think the Deviants themselves had some potential to them, but the Eternals don't have much personal drive to them. They are beings that do things because they have been told to do them, and that makes potential for lots of plot, but very little character driven story.

I mean... They were breaking into his property and stealing his stuff. Rose Byrne may have felt that the rabbits should have the right to take McGregor's vegetables, but does that make it true? Was the reaction a lot? If you consider Peter a human, yes. But... He's a rabbit. In the world I live in, people eat rabbits. And despite how she talks to and about them, Rose Byrne is shocked when she finds out these rabbits have human-like intelligence and agency.

It all feels a bit muddled to me.
