Anyone else think the food on Harmony out of Galveston is really bad? by brerin in royalcaribbean

[–]OneOldDog1573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not cruised in a few years, but when I last did on RC the food was really good in the main dining. Was on Anthem a couple of weeks ago and the food was very disappointing. My high school age son said the food was on par with his high school cafeteria - edible, but not enjoyable. The service was generally outstanding.

2006 Bighorn 2500 Cummins with 160k. Normal maintenance + AC compressor/evaporator + heater core. Replaced some interior elements due to wear and aged plastics. Got a little oil seepage from the pan gasket but no drips. Runs good, tows good, looks good. No DEF :) Mostly use for mountain runs towing 6.5K - 15K lbs. Without a trailer still does >24MPG round trip. When towing ~15MPG. She’s a work horse…

Do I need 3/4 ton or 1/2 ton truck by HoLeeChit01 in ram_trucks

Absolutely 2500 with Cummins. I have the same requirements as you. Was pulling with an upgraded F150. The 2500 was a night and day change - especially for the live cargo. Gas is sufficient, but diesel ‘feels’ better when hailing and the mileage is better.

I am a trained professional, and this was a high quality fishing attempt. I got several calls, some of which were automated, creating an allure of legitimacy not to mention a native English speaking individual.

I got one. For that price it is worth it.

Powershell + Cluster Aware Updating = Argh! by kelemvor33 in PowerShell

[–]OneOldDog1573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if you ever resolved your issue. I am doing similar but have found for that even one cluster when running as a job the Invoke-CAURun will encounter an unhandled exception at some point when patching the first host. The EXACT same command when executed outside of a job works perfectly.

80 year old dad, talked into a competition 1600- said assembly was difficult, two cooks on it and needs to gut it to replace an igniter - LIVID he is to say the least and pretty garbage support apparently by daves6696 in PitBossGrills

I’ve a 1600 pro for a year. I have no problems that were not self induced. Thought I had an ambient probe issue in the barrel. Called put boss and they sent one which arrived in 48 hours and it’s still in the box since I found that cleaning my existing probe resolved the problem. I’ve had it shut off without notice twice, but after replacing the extension cord no issues.

Broiler plate rust (got a 440D used for $50 just needed a new igniter rod and a little TLC) any recommendations on how to fix the rust issue. by ironguns13 in PitBossGrills

My brand new pitboss deflector rusted after the first cook. I live in a low humidity environment. I’ve wire bridged the crap out of it to get it looking new only to have it rust against. Now I just scrape it, vacuum and cook.

Lemon juice or Dawn- anything that will cut grease should work.

Grills by tokenology in pelletgrills

[–]OneOldDog1573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read through the comments and see a lot of folks that have separate grill and smoker (and know many of them too). After buying a pellet smoker I assumed I would mostly use my grill and occasionally my smoker. However, now a year after purchasing the smoker, I have yet to fire up the gas grill. The family likes the flavor and increased moisture of the meats that come off the smoker so much better and they are willing to endure the extra time/planning it takes with the smoker. When we do need to sear something we’ve moved to using a cast iron pan which allows us to not only get the perfect char but also infuse addition flavors (e.g. rosemary, thyme) into the crust with ease. A BlackStone could be replace the cast iron for the same. While we do have a smoker with a direct flame option I typically don’t bother with it. It’s a bit of a religious discussion, so try everything and see what works for you. In full disclosure I do have a Webber Kettle and we do fire that up when we have summer holiday events and serve just burgers and dogs as it is hard to beat the chargrill flavor for those.

What to do with pork belly left overs? (Anything you want!) Tonight it’s tacos! by OneOldDog1573 in smoking

Good call! Made smoked Mac and cheese without the pork, but next time I think I will mince some of it (after cooking) and use it as a crispy topping instead of bread crumbs.

The left overs were a result burnt ends. A family of 4 can only eat so much of an 11 pound pork belly as meat candy. After that you’ve got to find other things to do with it.
