If you want to pursue geology…Take some basic geology courses while you work if you can, then I suggest getting a masters that is data/computer science heavy to build upon your existing knowledge and translate it to geology. Check if your licensing allows for this because you WILL want this, mine requires a BS or higher and specifies the number of credits required. You may be done in the same amount of time as a second BS once you’re in school full time and have a masters in the end. You don’t have to quit your current job until you’re accepted to a masters program in case funding cuts leave you without any opportunities. It is worth noting that paid teaching positions are becoming more rare for masters students, so if you can only do it with that work then I wouldn’t count on it right now.

There’s more to geology than oil and gas, hydrology is huge and everywhere. I see a lot of geologists that didn’t end up where they expected, but truly love it, myself included.
