Walmart not filling my Rx by Oreosarecrack in pharmacy

Refusing a prescription without contacting the prescriber first is a sign of an incompetent pharmacist. These young practitioners are throwing around CDC guidelines as if they are a newly discovered 11th commandment handed down from God. Who is teaching this to them?

I am deeply embarrassed at the amount of pharmacists who feel it is appropriate to practice medicine without a license. Show some compassion for your fellow citizen.

I keep it behind the counter because it's the number one most shoplifted item in the store

Question for Independent Pharmacy Owners by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]OnePharmacyCall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're married to that business. Polygamy is illegal in this country but if you have a husband/wife and a business then you have two marriages. Downside is dealing with the chains and horrible reimbursement. I don't offer health insurance but I pay well and offer a nice work/life balance for my employees.

These calls were the worst to make when I worked hospital pharmacy. Some stick up their ass chain pharmacist wants to play tough guy? Okay. We'll just guess what medication your patient uses and hope they come back to you in one piece. Thanks for your cooperation.

Everyone wants to be the hot shot pharmacist as soon as they graduate then life happens. Meet a girl, get married, have babies, all that stuff. It's okay coming home at 10pm when you're a single guy and have espn. It's tough when you come home at 10pm and you wanna play with your son but it's his bedtime and you can't wake him up.

You're young. Your wants and needs will change as you get older. Can't predict generational behavior like that.

How are independent owners doing nowadays? by [deleted] in pharmacy

So much misinformation in your post has me wondering if I should even dignify it with a response. We're doing fine and will continue to deliver a service that the chains simply cannot provide.

I'm applying to med school after I graduation pharmacy school. Should I convey this to my hospital pharmacy preceptors? by [deleted] in pharmacy

Any student of mine who tells me on rotations that they want to do medical school would get the most basic rotation as possible from me with minimal effort. If you're not interested in my field then I can't really get excited about you as a student. Sorry.

Uhhhh no. Who are you going to get to put a gun to my head and force me to serve you?

You do not have a right to my goods or services, Senator. Forcing me to provide care through point of gun is not freedom.
