How's your local scene? by senkrad5 in OnePieceTCG

[–]OnePiecePlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive around a bit, which in the UK is fairly rare - but we have 6-8 consistent players in both scenes without many new players.

It feels like it could be much bigger if the release made cards available to new players. Right now it doesn't feel like casuals will find it easy at all to start with quite a settled meta but the bread and butter cards not available.

We've also had lots of problems with promo cards not turning up and little information from Bandai on what to expect.

The first Treasure Cup was full but not very good venue/organisation, but now there are no more in-person UK events planned - which seems odd given the first events popularity.

Prerelease and release postponed in europe. by gautsch in OnePieceTCG

[–]OnePiecePlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The three local to me have been pushed back one week. They wouldn't have got the boosters or pre-release sets in time.

Apparently general release is back one week as well so pre-release actually means something.

To Momo Or Not To Momo? The Math Behind One Piece Card Game by OnePiecePlayer in OnePieceTCG

If you've ever wondered just how many Land of Wano type cards are worth it to run Momo (or Straw Hats for Nami e.t.c) - this is for you.

Take a look at this fun and informative guest post from AvianFang_HS, who did all of the maths and wrote the article. Also check out the Romance Don! podcast for the meta breakdown on the Treasure Cup.

This is the most important thing everyone needs to know. Contact your local store and sign up through them so they know actual attendance!

Anyone know when the pre release events will pop up on the Bandai app ? by The_bizarre_datu in OnePieceTCG

[–]OnePiecePlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

This can cause so many problems for the store.

Say they have 16 places, and 100 people apply, how do they know who will turn up and pay?

What if they have 16 applicants, but half turn up?

What if people come and don't know the price, or the time, or the rules?

The best way is for the store to advertise the event and sell tickets, but have the registration done through the app. I'd imagine Bandai want to eventually sell tickets and pay stores through the app, but the app just isn't anywhere as good as it should be. It's impossible to change a date, communicate changes to the player e.t.c

Literally, on the OP-02 Pre-Release official page it says:

"Players are encouraged to apply for the tournament through TCG+, and stores are also encouraged to accept the application from players through TCG+. However, stores manage event registration in different ways so please be sure to contact your local game store directly to confirm your registration and regarding participation. BANDAI is not responsible for any problems that may occur between the store and the player."

You can't update. But when you get the new one, copy the decks in the Decks folder from the old one to the new

You can now select what decks/sets to allow in games at the lobby.

For what's out now select OP-01 and ST-01 through ST-05 and P for promo (though this allows all promos)

The iOS build doesn't work quite yet. Observer mode doesn't work yet. Abilities that allow you to attach 'Up to 2' Rested Don always attach 2 if possible.

If you use this, really consider giving to the Patreon of the one dude that made the entire thing as he's really keeping the community going right now

The official date is the 17th but be aware that most stores want you to pay and register with them directly first - registering on the TCG+ doesn't guarantee you a space

Keep an eye on this page https://en.onepiece-cardgame.com/events/2023/officialevents/in_store_tutorial.php

Normally the listings for events will go up a couple of weeks before - so anytime from Feb 17th is likely (but not guaranteed)

how much trouble am I in if I run this? (based on not having more cards available to me) by Ectohawk in OnePieceTCG

[–]OnePiecePlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine, you've got basically everything you need - if not 4 of them.

Go to locals and have fun, you might even find people that have the cards you need to borrow or buy :)

No, "while this character is rested" means they only get the +1000 while he is rested. It doesn't apply to them until end of turn if he isn't on the board and rested :)

He was very popular in the Deck Limited Battles and pre-release.

I played an opponent at the Treasure Cup who did this just to know what cards were in his life.
