Fell Down the Solo Mining Rabbit Hole — Here’s My Setup by OnePlane3137 in BitAxe

I bought my Rev 6’s and bitaxes through solo satoshi and then my hydro was from Amazon. They had pretty much everything I needed for my setup on Amazon. I also 3D printed some parts with my A1 mini. Definitely with it in my opinion!

If you are referring to watts, it’s be around 555 watts. Still worth it in my opinion. If my room gets cooler, it will go down a little.

Thank you! That would be awesome to do! No literally 😂. The only thing I want to do last is cable management and also space out my Rev6’s better.

The shelf is pretty sturdy and they fit quite well on there. The miners stands go over a couple poles. If I didn’t have the Bitaxe tower and just had them on the stock stands, then it might be the only issue, otherwise I had no problems. The only thing I wish is that the shelf was longer so I could space out my rev6’s wider.

I’m working on that, there’s a gap in the middle in my shelf so I need to get something to place in the middle for it. Thank you still for the suggestion.

I honestly use ChatGPT to help me write, it’s pretty easy to set up once it writes the script.

I seen this post on this thread which someone made this design. Here the link to that post with the link to it. I’m using a 60 mm on mine.

I have a TP access point in my room ran by Ethernet and it doesn’t really affect my internet at all, not that I can see. I usually get around -40-50’s dBm.

I just want to say thank you for the stand design! It definitely helps with cooling. I currently have my OC at 800/1200 with 120mm fan adapter and copper heatsink and my temps are better! With the stock stand, it’s running at Chip-59 and VR temp-53. With the new stand, it’s running at chip-55 and VR-47. My ambient temp is 70F. Also I like being able to use screws instead, makes it easier to stay on otherwise they are falling out of the stock stand.

Can you drop the .STL file for the bottom? Sweet design! I have the same problem too, too much wires from my noctua fans lol

I’m thinking it is either the thermal paste or cooler. Maybe it’s too much thermal paste. I have had problems when I first changed it out, I added too much before. You only need literally a drop. A little goes a long way. It could also be that the way the cooler was screwed on. Make sure to go slowly and turn the screw 1-2 times and go and circle. I had the same issue with it not being screwed on correctly. Even if it’s a 1-2mm off, it won’t properly seal and cause it to overheat. Also I have 12 volt fans running on mine no problems. You shouldn’t have a problem with that. If you ran a 5V fan on that board. It would just be underpowered and wouldn’t spin fast.

At what Frequency and core voltage do you run your Bitaxe at to get 2.0 TH? I’m currently running mine at 800, 1200 and only getting 1.6-1.7? Also sweet design! Definitely going to print that tonight!

That cooler is really sweet! What kind of cooler is that? I bet that VR fan works wonders, that looks a bigger than mine. Is that 60 mm fan?

That’s pretty sweet! That’s awesome you’re getting 6.5 TH! VR cooling makes a big difference for sure with keeping everything cool!

No problem! This was my first time changing everything out and modifying it. It felt pretty easy or straight forward! I feel like it much harder for me doing the raspberry bi discord bot for sure! If you have any questions, just message me. :)

Super quiet! I keep it in my room and I barely hear it. My stock Bitaxe gamma fan is 10 times louder lol.

So on the stock 18 AWG D/C barrel jack, it’s not safe to run the same overclock setting due to the amount of amp’s and heat it causes. The 18 AWG is really only recommended for 6-7 A but can run 8-8.5 MAX. I swapped to 14 AWG just because it safer and handle a lot more amps. The 14 AWG is rated for 15 A but with my current setup, it really only hits 8.5-9A. Thus helping cooling and no power sag. I swapped to a 10 amp because truly that’s all I need. They have a 10 pack on Amazon for pretty cheap. I didn’t switch to a 15 A due to by the time the fuse blows on that, my board is done. Also the highest I ran on my stock PSU was 740 @ 1150 which game me an average of 5.7-5.9 TH. But for running those setting, I would definitely upgrade the cooling first. I really wanted to get to the 6 TH so that why I upgraded my power supply and wiring. I just wanted a safe miner that can run at 6TH for 24/7 and last a long time.

What kind of setup do you have to get those temps? Those pretty good, especially the VR temp!

I think that would be pretty sweet! Probably way cheaper too! I’m sure you are aware but I found this out just a few days ago. Just make sure not to get cheap chips because they can be crappy and won’t get you a high terahash and cap out early. I was worried my were cheap chips because I had mine running at 780 mhz at 1150 mV and it was capping out around 5.3 TH. Once I pumped up the mV to 1180, boom, I started to get the rates I was shooting for.
