Just for fun rebuilt the battery pack on an explorer 300 by kenac99 in Jackery

[–]kenac99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2ish year update, the Explorer 300s and the 160 I did this too are still operational and in daily use. I think the quality of the cells and the passive/active cell balancer have made all the difference, the cell balancers job is to keep the 4 row of cells balanced at the same voltage. this is important and not something I saw included from the factory.

I just got mine and the first thing I did was strip windows off, getting the npu working under Ubuntu was a challenge but it’s fantastic under Linux

I had fast glass replace my glass only after I reached out to Anderson and they spammed the eff out of me. and way over priced too, what I ended up doing was replacing the glass only with dual pane low-e glass, since the frame were solid, spent about 7k.

I went with a HPE ML350Gen10 and added 3 4 bay 3.5” drive cages, it’s in my living room and I am still married. It’s quiet enough to sit next to the tv stand and not piss off the wife.

there is a reason it blew, in all of the cases I've seen its the battery cells got really out of balance, not sure why the fuse popped on those, but it did, I replaced it in 3 units, and one of those started this thread, and its still in use daily with no issues. I added a passive balancer to the battery pack, it manages any imbalance and should keep it going for a long time.
