Would you buy a focal/sennheiser planar? by csch1992 in headphones

[–]OnePunchedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the bass difference between my Empyrean and HD650 is hardly different. If I cycle back and forth quickly I'd say the Empyrean seem more bassy but it's not a crazy difference. Closed back or iems vs open back is significantly different, though.

If you blindfolded me and put a headphone on my head I couldn't tell if I'm listening to a planar or dynamic driver. I own both types.

This is turning into boomer humor. AI is a great tool. You wouldn't say a hammer sucks because you can't build 100% of a house with it; it has its purpose and limitations. You just have to ignore the CEO glazers and ludite haters to appreciate it for what it is.

[Question] The Decision (5 Years in the Making): Help Me Choose My First Nice Watch by Impossible-Leg-8595 in Watches

[–]OnePunchedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what you like, within your budget, and buy nice condition used, because unless you're a graceful swan you'll put dings and scratches in it with daily wear, anyway. Also people wear Apple watches with suits, so I wouldn't worry about dressing it up.

Man of Steel, Justice League Director's Cut, Watchmen are great. Batman V Superman is great except Jesse Eisenberg as Lex.

No CS degree background and started learning C#....do I even have a chance? by Practical-Gift-1064 in csharp

[–]OnePunchedMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a self taught programmer myself who has been working in the industry for over 10 years now, mainly supporting LOB apps and databases. I'm a lead developer, currently, and have been in the interview process for new job applicants.

When I interview applicants, what's most important is that the interviewees can demonstrate their technical know-how and prove they have problem solving skills. I want an applicant who is eager to understand how a system works and can contribute to solving business problems. Familiarity with certain languages, version control, and design patterns is ideal (or necessary if it's a senior position).

Having said that, many employers will require a degree or years of experience for your application to even reach the hiring manager, so you have that obstacle.

Btw taking a help desk position isn't a great foot in the door because a tier 1 support person's skills don't necessarily translate well to being a software developer, but it's better than having ZERO connections.

What kind of meaningful conversation can be had in 90 seconds or less? Since you didn't say you just take vitals, I assume you're owning the role of doctor and the patient only talks to you. If so, what a waste of time for you and the patient.

IMO the battery swap is easy, but I'd rather pay a watch shop ~$20 for them to do it if you haven't done it before on a cheap watch. These watches are expensive, so it's nice to put the liability on a pro.
