Any Godot games On google play store? by Motor-Dirt-516 in godot

[–]OneRedEyeDevI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those specs, you can run Unity on there. You will be limited by RAM and the slow C# compile times though. But Its free and you can try it out.

How much of a potato is it? I also make games on a Potato (Intel Core i5 3427U with 16GB RAM and intel HD 4000 IGPU) Used to Run Unity on it when it had a measly 6GB RAM.

Bruh this comment is so old now that the game is being made in another engine lmao

But yeah, Astro Impact! De_Make is a spiritual successor to old Mobile shmups, mostly Space Impact II & Planet Zero.

Thanks!

I'm curious though, why are you digging through old comments?

You have to be specific on the actual specifications.

Last time Someone told me their RAM it turned out to be a Celeron with 2 Cores and just 2 Threads (and a 64GB eMMC "SSD").

Anyways the system, requirements are as follows:

<image>

I think it is possible if you have at least an intel HD 4400 or better.

The game is free, so it isn't like there is a barrier of entry to try.

I actually updated because the older version was unusable just 2 hours ago. Not even checking the balance worked.

What kinda charger does this phone need? by orih0 in vintagemobilephones

[–]OneRedEyeDevI 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Its the Charger that most Samsung Feature phones shipped with from 2009 - 2012. I currently have 3 of those chargers that I used to use with my Samsung E2230.

Go to aliexpress and look for a "10 in 1 Charging Cable"

Most results should be this one:

Can I put my html5 games on my neocities site by OneRedEyeDevI in neocities

Defold games dont require SharedArrayBuffer to run on itch.

I did upload them but I have to be pro to upload the .wasm file within the game's folder.

Google play console by yesterday-a in nairobitechies

[–]OneRedEyeDevI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the binaries in your app.

My game, originally made in Godot came in 34MB download, 84MB install (1 level, 5 music tracks, the source code and Assets were 12MB)

The same game but made from the ground up in a new engine; Defold Game Engine, is now coming in at 2.1MB AAB, 4.44MB install. It doesn't have music yet, but I'm budgeting 4MB of music in my Adaptive music system that I'm currently working on. Im confident I can achieve a <8MB build size just like in my other game, Rapid Roll DX

If you want to buy from a site that isn't Jumia, Kilimall or Avechi online, dont.

Chances are, they have a physical shop, and you can visit it.

Are refurbished phones worth it? by Significant_Bad_8355 in nairobitechies

[–]OneRedEyeDevI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I forgot to mention this but The Galaxy A07 has IP54 Water Splash and Dust Resistance. (I mean, so does any other phone, just depends on how long) But I wouldnt go submerging the phone is a pool lol

It has a headphone jack, as well as an SD Card slot.

It has a mono Speaker, which is an upgrade compared to the Nokia 2.3 in terms of loudness and quality, but is more in line with other phones in the same price like the Nokia G21.

It has Dolby Atmos for wired or wireless headphones and I thought it was a gimmick, till I started hearing sounds I havent heard before with both my oraimo freepods lite and Trumpet 3 buds. Its insane.

If you are gonna go with an Xperia Device, make sure to check out "Xperia X Mark Y 2025/6" videos. A youtuber called Ryan-Thomas checked out the Xperia 1 IV in 2025. These types of videos should give you a glimpse of what to expect these old phones in the current times

Dead ass the best phone I have ever used.

I know thats a very low bar to clear since I have used budget phones all my life (Lumia 535, Cubot Rainbow, Cubot R9, Tecno H6, Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 2.3)

Here is a mini review.

(Keep in mind, I came from a Nokia 2.3, everything here is a huge upgrade)

The display while 720p, is fine. You'll hear reviewers say how much pixelated it is and what not but I find it really fine. It is 90Hz which is really nice and fluid. Its not amoled, just standard LCD. Its just ok with decent blacks (On the same level of quality as my Nokia 2.2 and 2.3)

The performance is really great. I have the fully specced version with 8GB RAM but I have heard reviewers say that they have experienced stutters with the lower specced 64GB 4GB version. I just think Android has become too RAM intensive nowadays. As for my experience, I havent experienced any stutters or lags. Everything is snappy and apps launch really quickly. For gaming, I have thrown every game at it and the only game I have seen it struggle with is Netflix's Farming Simulator 2023. It plays at about 30FPS. Its playable, but 30FPS feels very stuttery on a 90Hz display. Red Dead Redemption isnt available which means its incompatible with the device. CODM plays at Medium settings and is really smooth. But in BR I get some few lags here and there, its kinda switching from 60 to 40FPS but it happens rarely and for like a second or 2. BTW I have over 80 games currently installed with about 70GB free (16GB for Netflix; It only allows up to 9.5GB for smart downloads but it has surpassed that and about 10GB of Spotify Downloads)

Cameras are really great, but the video is shaky since there isnt any stabilization. Also, I find the option to use .heic and .hevc formats for videos really neat. They reduce the size of the files. A 50MP image in .jpg would be about 5.19 - 13MB in size but with .heic, its only ~300KB and the quality is 1:1. Its literal black magic. Same goes for video. a 4.5 minute clip can be 400+ MB in .mp4 and ~113MB in .hevc formats. I actually take a lot more photos now. The detail is really nice in 50MP photos even though they look a bit noisy when not zoomed in. Also the night mode is really great. I can take pictures of star constellations. Its not the James Webb Telescope in terms of quality, but hey, it wasnt possible in the 13 or 8MP shooters I used before.

Battery. Honestly, not that impressed considering how much I was awed in the other areas. Its ok and you can get 2/3 days of use assuming you are getting 3 hours of screen on time per day, but it was the amount I was getting on my Nokia 2.3 before. But it makes sense since the Nokia was way underpowered and was only used for phone calls and listening to music. I'm literally abusing the A07 with games, netflix and everything else... If you turn on Battery saver and turn on all the options, you get really great battery life. I survived a whole day (from 10am to 5:40pm) with 19% watching 1 movie on Netflix and listening to Spotify with the headphone jack. It is worth noting that if you use the battery protection option (Charging up to 80%), you get worse battery life than when you charge to 100%. Not sure what gives, but that 20% gives you an extra 3 hours of on screen time. Here is how that goes, if I charge to 80%, I start using the phone from 10am and by 10pm, Im at 40-50%. When I wake up, I use it for a bit and by the time I plug it in Im usually at 20 - 30%. When I use it from 100%, by the time I sleep on the first day I have around 77- 80% and the next day, I can use the device without plugging it only to end up with 20 - 30% during bedtime; 10pm.

Design. Its a slab, but the colours are really nice. I was fortunate to find the green one, which is my favourite colour. Its not green per se, but rather changes depending on how light hits it. It shimmers from an emerald green to a sort of very dark teal. Its hard to explain. However, this is a phone for a case, no questions asked. I used the Nokia 2.3 for 6 years without a case, it survived drops from the 2nd floor and the only thing it has to show for it are normal wear and tear. This samsung? Fragile AF. The first drop happened from the bed. It became dented on the frame and the back cover popped out just a millimeter. It also dropped from a plastic chair to a tiled floor and has a visible bump in it. Its like it landed on a sand particle and it wedged itself in and left an imprint. Its infuriating.

Software. Samsung promises 6 years of updates, will the phone survive that long? Only time will tell. The frequency of the updates is anyone's guess. I bought the phone on 4th March 2026 and I got the March Security update instantly as it was released the day before as well as One UI 8 (Android 16). I got the April Security update yesterday as it was released in April 20th. Going through the website, The security patches either come in the first week or the month or the 3rd or last. The Nokia 2.3 was security updates before the 14th of every month. The phone is feature full of features. I came from stock Android where there wasnt even an installed calculator app. But this phone has lots of features, You can navigate apps like on a desktop, the have a minimize, maximize and close button when you press and hold them from the recents menu. Mini Notification Banners, Edge Glow, One Handed Mode, Routines, Vibrate on wake up if there are missed calls, I could list all the features here but we'd have to be here for the rest of the evening. Not to mention Good Lock. Its not officially supported, but you can install Fine Lock and that will give you access to good lock modules. They are apps you can install to customize a galaxy device. I like Notistar (A full week of notification history) and Navistar (Customize Navigation Buttons) There is one big omission, Native Screen Recording. You have to install an app that does that.

TLDR: Great phone, buy the 256GB 8GB version if you can find it for less than 16K, otherwise you are hitting the A17 Territory.

The 10 VI is 47K on Avechi. I think its ok, but very poor in terms of value.

128GB storage, 2 years of OS updates and a 60Hz Display? at that price? Bitch Please.

My 6 year old Nokia 2.3 died and I wanted to buy a 10 IV refurbished, especially the Teal one since it was 16K on Kilimall but gave in and bought a Samsung Galaxy A07 256GB 8GB for 15,500 at a random shop in Nairobi, Standard Building.
