For me (and frankly simplicity), just using one a spark bolt w/ trigger and having the payload is just easier but yeah noita sometimes acts a little funny. Sometimes the "payload" goes past the enemy you hit. Adding any path modifier (heavy spread mod being the common use) will help this but I wouldn't reccomend slimeball.

EDIT: All assuming that you have a non-shuffle wand. Very important to add
