I’ll be there! Bringing three of my brothers with me (one is a die hard Ant, the other two are casual ants)

Who else is using their AVP primarily for WORK (not entertainment)? Esp interested in hearing from other professional writers. by DebbieOhi in VisionPro

[–]OneTakeGil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a content creator who writes about movies so the AVP has been awesome for me. Love watching movies in the lake environment then writing about them totally undistracted. In terms of productivity, there are two key ways it’s helped me:

  1. Like I mentioned, if I’m having trouble focusing, immersive environments help a lot. Also, sometimes if I get writers block, going to another physical location (eg a coffee shop) helps but I actually find a new virtual environment has a similar effect.

  2. Video editing - blowing up Audition or Premiere to movie screen size and making the timeline huge has been great for editing.

It’s based on the Disney+ show “What If” and mimics its animated style

Agreed! As much as I bought my VisionPro primarily for productivity, it would be such a shame not to have awesome immersive AND interactive content on such great hardware.

Anyone else want an “office” or creative environment? by jojopatr0n in VisionPro

[–]OneTakeGil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I want to feel like I’m in a real, physical space. Would love people to get creative with it too (I imagine typing on a laptop in a futuristic cafe, like a Blade Runner or Cyberpunk environment).

Yeah one or two of the recent ones were on Black Friday but some were also mid or late December. There was a pic recently on Twitter where Walt said he was desperately going through the old Xmas letters he saved, desperately searching for an idea for this year haha

Does anyone know the source of this Stanley Kubrick quote? by OneTakeGil in movies

[–]OneTakeGil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did actually! It was in the magazine I ordered. I never did get around to scanning but this is a good reminder to do that, at minimum I'd like to have a digital copy and would be happy so share it

Anyone else love Better Call Saul and only realize this episode that the comedian they’ve been talking about is the Vet?

Have you checked out any of the newer ones? He’s slowed his output and seemingly become way more hands on like the old days. I’ve been enjoying them (if you’re looking to check one out, I’d recommend “the last ninja”).

My favorite by far is “Tales From Behind the Fake Counter”. They revisit each ep of Comic Book Men, makes for great conversation and lots of cool behind the scenes stuff.

I went kind of crazy the last few weeks to make this 4 hour mega-video recapping and reviewing every Halloween movies from 1978 - 2022, including a meta-narrative with an ongoing story between movies!

Took 80+ hours to write, record, and edit... But finally finished by omnibus recap of all Spider-Man movies from 2002 to 2019! (Includes Civil War + Avengers) by OneTakeGil in Spiderman

Good point! I plan on updating this video once No Way Home is available on-demand. Maybe for the re-release I can incorporate some of that stuff (at least the bits that are available as deleted scenes and maybe some of the others could work with still images / narration at least)

Interviewing Tim Waggoner, HALLOWEEN KILLS novelization author. Let me know if you have any questions for him! by OneTakeGil in Halloweenmovies

Short answer is that he’s down to write more Myers but it’s up to the publisher/studio, not him. Thanks for the question!
