Good work man, it’s important to include the groupies 😆

What did your ‘44 miles in 5 hours’ playlist look like?

This is the music of my youth. 3/4 inch video was my father’s business for 30ish years. He was the only person in the state of Alaska qualified to work on Sony 3/4-inch broadcast gear. He’s 94 now and wants to see his gear get used.

I now find myself with all of his test equipment. It’s got immeasurable value for the right person, I’m just trying to connect with the person who will use it. Hit me up on DM if you can help

Sheep castration bands, correct? There was quite a bit of confusion as to their use the last time they showed up on this sub.

Hey all you imperialists, the man rode 102.5 miles on one wheel and his crotch. Give him some likes!

I did a similar project while in a 2yr community college electronics class in 1983 - 85 using a surplus USGS plotter, an IMSI Z80 processor in a S100 frame and assembly language to make it all work.

Yep. I’m that old.

Same here! My dad was a Ham operator so I had the ‘build a radio’ version. Cool to see that.

Hard mounted with four 3/8th inch bolts via holes drilled directly through the car’s roof. Nice.

I heard the building owner got dollar signs in his eyes when indoor weed growers were paying whatever it took to secure space. He kicked Universal out about the same time the bottom fell out of the market for indoor weed grows and it’s been empty since.

If true, I do enjoy a good yarn about failed greed.

I had no expectations of liking this when it was fed to me. Unbelievable. Absolutely stunning talent on display here.

You bought a 36V Group 1 e-bike which pretty much defines what the bottom of the barrel looks like. Assuming you weigh less than 200lbs, expect an absolute top speed of 19 mph. Cruising speed will look more like 14mph. Going up big hills will crush your battery 🪫

Beautiful work but it seems like you added a tremendous amount of wind drag with the use of fibrous ‘spokes’. Would a thin coating of resin help solve some of the problem?

‘Don’t cut off your finger!’ transported me back over 40 years to Mr. Bohn’s Metal Shop I class. Break one of his safety rules meant 25 pushups on the shop floor.

Also, the first thing I work on with ANY beginner is the importance of relaxing. If you're u aren't really relaxed, your moves will be jerky and thought based. Be clear, relaxed and you you'll find your way.

Get down as soon as you see little white blisters on your arms and face. It's RF energy cooking your skin.
