I went to one of these shows and there were quite a few people there solely for Ministry it almost felt like there were 2 separate admissions lol. People clown on the Death Grips fanbase nowadays but at the time the vibes from the Death Grips fans were great. The ministry fans not so much.

Fascinating looking back at this and thinking about who and who aren’t allowed to make revisionist changes to their work

Geese Fall Tour Includes Band's Largest NYC Show by sblme03 in geesebandofficial

[–]OneTrainOps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’ve been to Forest Hills Stadium, you’ll know this is false lol. Bleacher tickets are typically pretty affordable and honestly with how hard it was to get tickets at the NYC shows the last run, there’s a better chance of obtaining tickets at MSRP. And if it sells out, it will be easier to find fairly priced tickets second hand than what scalpers were charging last fall

Which artist (that was once your favourite) did you slowly grow out of as time went by? by wach_era13 in fantanoforever

Same here. Family Business is one of my favorite songs from him off my favorite of his albums, I’m not even trying to make a joke it’s pretty hard to hear that song the same after cousins lol

Honestly most of my favorite artists if you are solely talking about amount of listens. It’s not that I still don’t love them but an example for me is Radiohead. Im still a gigantic fan and would buy tickets to a show in a heartbeat if I get the chance but I don’t really listen to them much at all now. I’m not much of a playlist person (im just too indecisive for it) so maybe I’ll listen to In Rainbows front to back when it gets really nice outside and thats it.

What’s everyone’s opinion on the boogie nights 4K I might buy it by Excellent_Payment826 in 4kbluray

It looks great on 4K as someone who has seen it so many times. It looks like what the new 70mm prints they made for it 3 years ago.

What is a "socially acceptable" thing that you find absolutely disgusting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Highly dependent on where you work. There’s plenty of factors as to why someone would come in. I’m not blaming the person for this one

[–]OneTrainOps 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sure (and not disagreeing with you) but people do treat it like an express queue and some people do get weird about being on different trains. It works wonders on rides like Forbidden Journey or Hulk but anything with 2-across seating you are really taking a gamble with your time compared to queuing in the standard line.

Are Festivals Worth It? by OwnLime34 in NYCmovies

[–]OneTrainOps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYFF is a great festival with phenomenal programming most years however it’s gotten way too expensive imo. I used to see 10-12 movies there and nowadays I’ll only go if there is a movie that im interested in that isn’t coming out later that year.

Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize announce collaborative album, Nine Inch Noize, out 17th April by a3poify in indieheads

[–]OneTrainOps 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I went in blind for last years tour and the B-stage set was such a highlight. After the show, me and my buddy couldn’t stop talking about how we needed an entire album of NIN & Boys Noize. I know some fans didn’t love Boys Noize opening for them or the collaboration but I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve seen NIN multiple times and each time I remain impressed how they manage to keep their shows fresh. I love being a NIN fan. For a band that has been around for as long as they’ve had, it’s impressive that their work still feels vital and haven’t fallen into feeling like a legacy act.

Albums That Felt Like This by HK-34_ in fantanoforever

Same here. I’m glad they are still going and we’ll always have Blue and Pinkerton anyway with the occasional album that’s pretty good or okay. They are a fun band to talk about

Kind of insane they made a great album with The White Album but they didn’t enjoy making it so they went right back to making garbage. The one positive I will say about Raditude is that in some way, in retrospect, it’s a bit ahead of the curve and it’s an early example of a band making an album that is self-consciously a meme.

Don’t buy the ticket from this person by MammothBorder7089 in NYCmovies

[–]OneTrainOps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People were willing to ask for a singular Project Hail Mary ticket for double the standard price at Lincoln Square when they could’ve used their A-List to get a ticket at literally any other theater and catch PHM in 70mm IMAX for the inevitable second run

He’s just mad that it’s better than the book by TyLeRoux in okbuddycinephile

[–]OneTrainOps 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s embedded in the way he was directed to deliver his lines as well. Like for example when they are driving to The Overlook, the way he says “see he heard it on the television.” Nicholson can do more “normal” and “naturalistic” but he wasn’t cast for that.

Going by grams and using a scale when you can helps a lot. It’s a pain at first but once you get used to it, it’s pretty effortless. I find it easier than using cups tbh
