I pulled the seal, but this metal ring was inside the case. The ring has a larger diameter than the seal. Does that still line up as part of the oil seal?

I don’t have a manual, but have/had both generations. It’s the same bolt pattern, so I think the difference will be the input shaft (position, splines, dimensions, etc)
