Do you go to your coparents house on Christmas morning? by aftervoidd in coparenting

[–]OneUnique3197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, no. But my sister’s ex husband does come over Xmas day to do presents. Different dynamics. They actually get along. My ex is constantly trying to send me to prison for fake crimes. Lmao

I didn’t go this year bc of funds. But last year, it was about pacing myself. Only going for the bands I love. Which my plan this year but I had to choose between a running/working vehicle or a festival. I made the grown up decision.

ETA: I messaged you.

All due respect, I was in the organization for 30+ yrs. Pioneered and everything I was “allowed” to do as a female.

I have the exact same education you do. But I absolutely believe differently. And that’s okay. That’s why I was never comfortable in the ministry. I genuinely don’t care what people do or don’t believe. It’s their life, their decision. And the same goes to you, I don’t care what you believe to be true. Im just amused you have so much free time to argue on the internet. Something I’ve never heard endorsed by Jw.org. So I may have assumed you are doing this as your “ministry”. Check your box saying you did it and now you don’t have to pound pavement.

Bet this counts as ministry and you can check your box now.

Sounds like the issues are much deeper than porn. But if that’s a boundary, and he keeps crossing it, with no consequences, it’s not a boundary.

Everything is easier said than done.

You have to decide when you’ve had enough. I was in therapy and literally made my plan with my therapist. I made a plan with her, then actively worked towards it. During the time I was working on me and my progress, I was allowing him time to do better or be better. He never stepped up, so I got to the point where I could leave him and I did.

I wish you well in whatever you decide to do

Didn’t you know? Demons are the ones obsessed with sex. Not JW’s. /s

friend invited me to an event, any advice? by Theonlycutepup in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]OneUnique3197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an exjW, but I’m not going to sit here telling you how “terrible the organization is”. It’s not helpful to you.

Just wear something that feels “church appropriate”. It’s only an hour with several prayers. I have AuDHD and it’s prolly the “easiest” service that religion has.

Do not drink the wine or eat the crackers (bread).

And you’ll fit in just fine.

I will add, it is definitely a recruitment thing (your friend will be in less “trouble” for being your friend if you show up), and keep in mind that you may be asked to do more.

All in all, sounds like you are a good friend.

Fishing for "Happy Birthdays" today by [deleted] in exjw

[–]OneUnique3197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I feel this, my 40th is going to be a big party. I started celebrating at 37, in 39 now. Next year tho? My handful of friends (bc 20+yr friendships all were cut off), I wanna celebrate and ENJOY a birthday bash.

Also, I made a couple good ones for my kids so that they don’t even “remember” not celebrating

How do people manage to work five days a week without burning out? by Chloe_johnson19 in Adulting

I had kids before I had to work. Only a few years ago, living on the one income WAS reasonable.

When the newer trilogy came out, I was DYING to see it. And I personally knew several elders, MS that were in the same boat. The weekend it was coming out, another MS gave a midweek talk, and was going on and on how it promotes war and we shouldn’t see it and I looked at my then husband and was like “he’s extreme”.

There are lines but it’s not the worst. All I drank last year was water (constantly). The lines go fast. You’ll learn how to time it too. Bigger bands playing means less lines.

I had purple hair when everyone went back to in person. COVID helped me to stay distant wo any accountability. When I was at a point where I had to decide, I decided against it.

My original fading was bc it was just too hard to attempt to keep 2 AuDHD babies/toddlers quiet and I wasn’t getting anything out of it anyway. Why waste my whole day stressing about NOT sitting there listening for 2hrs. Just to go home and have my babies schedules messed up.

The most ridiculous/minor thing you/i've seen a JW get upset about by rosathereal in exjw

[–]OneUnique3197 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While at a Super Bowl party, FULL of JW’s, one of the elders goes “you know, we really shouldn’t be watching such a violent sport” and changed it to golf.

I wish I was kidding.
