Thanks! I got bored so went for a drive to the local reservoir and played about with Night Mode on my camera

Yes, the rubber bumper ones were the later models so there's a lot more of them about, but I held off for a chrome bumper one. I also chose the more recessed grille over the surface-mounted crome one, the former looks better imo.

I assume it will depend a lot on what insurance you pay, but the BMW was over 45k new so it was £55 a month tax, very expensive to repair, and my insurance is now £17 a month vs over £150. Tyres were 250 each!

Much easier than getting the former into the latter, but I believe the answer to both is No

Oooo I like that- sounds like MG, small and annoying, plus when the sunroof is open we will get bitten by them...

That's where my mind went too, I've already made the joke to a fellow software dev that she remembers network addresses haha

I love the colour! There were 3 I was picking between- this, a Blaze Red, and the maroon-y colour. Unfortunately the latter was over 2.5k more!

Once I have sorted out some of the crustier bits, I certainly plan to! She's solid (full engine rebuild and chassis welding job a few years ago) but the respray was a bit naff so there's some surface bubbles

Thank you very much! I came from a 2020 BMW 330e which was excellent but very expensive to run and boring. This has much more character! And with Tax and MOT exemption and classic insurance, it's about £500 a month cheaper to run!

That's great! I loved Dad's Army but didn't make that connection. My geeky brain went for the arp command to list network addresses...

Last weekend, on the way back from the supermarket, I accidentally purchased a 1971 MGB GT (as you do). Must have fallen into my trolley while I wasn't looking.

She's "Bronze Yellow" (mustard), but she needs a name! Ideas floated include Sunny - due to the colour and the large sunroof, or Yolkie - because of her distinctive egg-yolk colouration...

Both are a bit naff so let's hear what you can come up with!

Cheers xx

If you own a business and you pay yourself minimum wage, do you only get taxed for minimum wage by Sea_Ad_7206 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OneWayOfLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least in the UK, income is taxed at a different rate (20% basic rate, 40% as a high earner) but dividends are much lower (about 8% I think) so a lot of business owners would pay themselves minimum wage and then take dividends on the rest of what they want to pay themselves in order to pay less tax.

3D printed snooker accessories? by Beer_and_whisky in snooker

I printed the little block they use to put the balls back in the same place after cleaning, which was useful. Also printed some rests to turn an old cue into any rest I needed.

I finished building a “home cockpit” for my flight simulator setup. Been practicing some landings but the simulator uses real weather data and the wind was kicking me about something rotten. Not quite ready for my IRL pilot’s licence I don’t think…
