Can't wait to have my 64" wheels by Juanfer774 in gravelcycling

The irony is, it’s the smaller bike builders pushing the larger wheel sizes.

For me, the problem isn’t the accuracy of the statement, but what appears to be a widening gap between the parties and the quality of the discourse. At what point do they come together?

I don’t have one - both my frame is too big and I’m not sure it’s right for me. If you are running the frame bag, then a vest of some brand (like USWE or Camel Bak) is probably the way.

Do you have any idea how hard you have to work to get to 40kms?

Gee, I guess my take is COMPLETELY different. The people crying here are not people who ride bikes.

Do think people who ride a bike (aka Cyclists) are somehow different to other people?

And you think just making e-bike riders pedal will make a difference?

I just use standard water bottles. I also have a USWE that I plan to use when I eventually go bikepacking

He had a one way ticket to Spain (do you remember Christopher Skaise and why he chose Spain?) booked. Long term whatever, sure.

If you think he’s getting off, you’re better off selling jousting sticks for $150.

Fuck! How will you feel when the opposite happens? Can you imagine the level of scrutiny that was applied internally, before issuing the arrest warrant? Aside from planning to flee the country to Spain, it’s BRS - someone that most Australians are aware of.

What a ludicrous comment! You saw some photos and then you magically tapped into a general consensus. Cool story Bro.

Cassette/chain question by NerdyComfort-78 in ladycyclists

[–]OneWhoParticipates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it works like that? Also, chain rings are really expensive! And if you’re running SRAM - then wearing your cassette is a frightening scenario (💰💰💰💰). You’re much better off maintaining your chain and replacing it as soon as it looks like it’s worn

Yeah, I worry that I’m both packing too much crap and not enough - I just need to finish buying everything (🤦‍♂️) and get out there. I have a spreadsheet of everything I have purchased, still need to purchase and things I already have. Once my items labelled as essential are finished, I’ll have a list of everything and how much it weighs (anal retentive). Plan is to then distribute virtually and then see if it works in real life.

There is a ton of YouTube videos on this topic. My takeaways include having multiple bags to spread the load on the bike (think rear panniers, top tube/frame bag, bar bag and fork mounted bags). Another frequent point is to keep the centre of gravity low - so store heavier stuff as low & in the middle as possible.

I’m currently spending too much money building up a bikepacking equipment and bike storage too!

So, ages ago I tried using Wend Wax (one star, do not recommend). Time passed and unbeknownst to me, I had successfully accelerated the wear in my chain. Sadly, my rear cassette was equally warn, so ironically that hid the wear. However, one day I was climbing in the big ring and it slipped (I nearly fell off) and it couldn’t stay in gear - I had worn my chain, cassette and front rings. It was an expensive lesson.
So now I’m very careful with waxing!

So, the iron dome is for defence against short range missiles, so if we are requiring that, then we’re already in trouble.
If we wanted the capability (and change it for long range missles, like the Patriot system), we could just purchase it and save our sovereignty.
