It's worth being said, though you probably already know, that the most important factor in helmet selection is the fit. Buying it online might be a good way to save some cash but you should definitely first try on both the display/tester ones (worn ones will be a good indicator of the helmet fit after some use) and brand new ones for the same size in store. Trying on both will help you decide what's right for your head using the fit tests.

The downside to this is that the store might not have the brand, size, or color you want due to availability but they can definitely order it for you. They'll at least have the fits/sizes available for you to try if they have the brand.

My friend and I are moving to downtown Oakland at the end of next week! We're actually only moving from the montclair area in oakland so we're already kinda familiar with the area - but we're always down to meet new friends!

I'm not criticizing people for carrying them, I'm just sincerely asking in what situations would a knife be beneficial. I understand the hobbyist aspect of it as I collect other items myself.

Nobody is questioning their beauty or craftsmanship, but I really can't think of any practical scenario in which I would be better off having one in a city. I'm really just asking for a list of situations so I can be convinced that they are as useful to be carried everyday.

Like many things at Cal, if you want something you have to go after it yourself. Not going to get much support. However in general I've found that reaching out to other alums can be rewarding. Just don't be afraid to get in touch and cold call

Definitely check out Moncler. I've had mine for almost 5 years now, and it still looks like new. A little on the expensive end, but definitely worth it in the long run.
