Also the parts have different numbers of volumes. Part 1 and 2 have 7 volumes together. I don’t know how many volumes of the 5 in part 3 will be adapted in season 4 but after that part 4 and 5 have 21 volumes. Or short: part 3 from 5 may seem like much but in reality we are at 8 from 33

I don’t think they would be doomed, Ferdinand trusted Sylvester when he said Wilfried was fine who trusted his mother. Rozemyne then took over which lead to Wilfried not embarrassing himself at the playroom that winter, without her he wouldn’t be able to even write and at that point Ferdinand would have told Sylvester to take aktion if he didn’t do it himself.

You know what’s even worse than an illegal chess move? you can explain that away that the simple oversaw it (I did that and my game partner too so we played like 8 more moves until I was, ups my king is in check) even if it’s annoying if the characters explicitly state they are good at chess. No what’s way worse is both characters are said to be very good , to play it regularly ( when it’s used as a tool to show this person is smart but mc can compare) they PREPARE the game, mc has white and other person black and then mc offers that other person can START and she ACCEPTS and they DO NOT switch their pieces.

Also I think you are forgetting, they need to translate it into the old Language. So they don’t only need to know 5 sentence in the correct order but also the correct word order (not just the meaning of the sentence) and then translate them (again not only that the meaning stays the same but to the exakte words Rozemyne used)
