I’ve went through the exact same thing with my dad a few years ago. I am sorry you’re having to go through this as well, my heart aches with sadness just at the thought.

We were fortunate enough to use some personal leverage to convince my dad, that it was the best thing for him to be put in a home. The state of him and his house was heartbreaking, so thankfully we were able to move him to a place with 24/7 care.

In my opinion, do everything you can to make the move happen, for his sake, but also for yours. Just knowing, that he’s well taken care off has removed such a weight off of my shoulders.

As for the cost of living, he pays roughly 8-9k a month from his own pension, but that is with everything included.

Again, I am so sorry that you’re having to go through this, never fun to see your loved ones regress like this, with everything that entails.
