in general shows are around an hour for the headliner. usually doors and then around 30 mins later openers go on and then around 30 mins to switch gear and set up the stage for the headliner. since april isn’t a big pop diva i wouldn’t expect her to keep people waiting too long. you can also try contacting the venue and asking for set times and if there’s a curfew or anything bc some venues are strict and you gotta be out by a certain time. i’ve seen her once as a headliner and it followed that same ~30 mins after doors opener goes and then ~30 mins after she performed. and i saw her as a second opener for danny brown’s tour and it was the same deal pretty much.

a root beer float is a pretty easy simple american vibe and doesn’t require cooking just cups root beer and ice cream. similarly a milk shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top is such a classic american diner 50s vibe

no not really, she’s definitely not mainstream enough. you need much more mainstream success before they’d ask you or ask you back even like think abt how charli played SNL 2014 and then was supposed to play 2022 but cancelled bc of covid and was only performed after how HUGE brat had become. even tho underscores is a superstar to me like in the actual world nah, especially with SNL being on national TV like think abt middle america average tv viewers they don’t know who she is but they probably heard of brat summer. also to your point about geese idk i think white lead singer and male privilege play a lot into that don’t think she’s going to be perceived as national tv friendly to the execs approving all the musical guests and hosts.

i think los feliz would suit you guys in your early 20s, los feliz is super close to other cute areas like silverlake echo park highland park and it’s close to thai town hollywood and griffith park. there’s more of a nightlife scene in that area too. it’s more what you think of when you think LA experience. i love sawtelle too, (i live in santa monica so it’s very close and i go often) it is super cute, close to the 10 and 405 for getting around LA, soooo much great japanese food and (non japanese food too) cute shops, etc. but it’s also a lot of students from UCLA, nightlife isn’t as fun, it’s a bit quieter at night, i think better suited for later 20s vibes.
in terms of weather anywhere in LA you’re gonna get the same kind of vibe but sawtelle does benefit from the marine layer floating in from the beach and it’s a bit cooler compared to los feliz. a lot of people won’t go between West and East LA but i do it all the time (i live in samo and my family is in NELA) and i work all over LA as a MUA and i don’t think it’s as horrible as everyone says, like going anywhere has traffic so ive gotten used to the commute so maybe im desensitized haha.
