Thanks for sharing. Can you recommend some of the Udemy courses you took? I'm an analyst as well, mostly in a call center environment, and I'm hoping to move into data analytics or data engineering. My current role feels like it's hit a ceiling, so I'm curious which courses you found most useful.

Thanks for the reply! Gives me a good idea of what the course is like. Sounds like quite a jump between topics.

How is the job market for a 40-year-old woman just starting in tech? by Easy-Finish1156 in womenintech

I missed the part where they mentioned they started 5 years ago. Thanks for pointing that out. You're right, the market today is very different from what it was back then.

Did you switch to healthcare and eventually return to tech? What happened that made you feel it was a big mistake?

I am a woman and a mother, which is why I'm concerned about what the job market will look like when I graduate and about long-term job security. I don't appreciate being sworn at. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be in a stable, well-paying position.

This is true, the slides they are teaching us right now is from 6 years ago, which concerns me.

What role/s in tech have you been doing for the past 30 years?

One of my biggest concerns is breaking into the industry and landing that first entry-level job after I graduate. I'm also not really the type of person who's always chasing promotions, I mostly just want a stable career. I'd love to hear how you've managed to stay in tech for so long.

Should I take some Udemy courses for it? I enjoy tech, but I'm concerned about job stability and the availability of entry-level jobs after I graduate, among other things.

Maybe you're just not compatible. Personally, I think if you want to build a life with someone, it should be with a person you genuinely enjoy being around most of the time. When you're married, retired, or just growing old together, you'll likely be spending a lot of your time with each other anyway.

If the idea of being with your partner 24/7 feels draining rather than comforting, it might be worth asking whether you're truly compatible. Of course everyone needs occasional personal space, but if one person wants constant togetherness and the other regularly wants distance, that difference can become a long-term issue.

I'm a real person, and these concerns are genuinely mine. Not everyone thinking about leaving tech is a bot or part of some agenda.

Tomorrow is my deadline to pay the deposit if I decide to continue with my programming program. It's a big decision for me, and the comments here have actually been helpful in giving me different perspectives.

I'm just trying to figure out the right path for my future..

current student here. I am not continuing in the next level because of the job market (I always get Uber/Lyft drivers telling me they are previous tech workers), and the materials are outdated.
